Great run from Sunderland. Although in these situations I am always more reluctant than the media to erase the preceding 6+ months.
Obviously they've come up trumps when it mattered but imo Poyet had them underperforming for months, even with the farcical state they were in after di Canio left they should never have been where they were. I don't completely buy into this convenient rainbow fairytale story that he spent 6 months laying the seed and then they went from being awful week in week out to being class.

Agreed. We've underperformed, no doubt about it but 10 of our players are either out of contract or finishing loans at the end of the season, for them to play like that when they probably wont be here next season (colback probably going to newcastle) takes balls that most players dont have. Annoyed theyve underperformed but theyve all won my respect, and i dont respect many footballers. PS mannone got player of the season, well deserved too, we love him and he loves it here, nice ladnorthbank123 wrote:Great run from Sunderland. He probably just needed to move to get regular games. He never really got a run with us and when he did play he was mostly mince, but I'm glad he's worked out for you.safcftm wrote:Agreed. Re: Norwich vs Arsenal (Carrow Road Climax)
This will be a strange one I think. We aren't doing our now customary last day qualification for the CL so we might play the stiffs or we might decide that momentum is a good thing and put out the cup final team hoping a solid 5-0 win will have them all firing for the final. Of course that's risky with possibility of injuries. We might lose too if the players are worried about getting injured the week before the final.
Okay. Arsenal Stiffs v Norwich it is. 5-0 to The Stiffs!

Yep. Really happy for you safcftm. I have good memories of Roker Park, back in the day.safcftm wrote:Cheers mate, still cant believe it, we were dead and buried with city, chelsea and man united away to come, 7 points from that is crazy. Just a pisser that the Villains stayed up, but then again had they lost at our place, it might have turned out differently.
I still like my Nickers Off Ready When I Come Home thread

West Brom staying up in 2005 was the Prem's greatest escape, not Sunderland.

I think he needs a club where he has a lot to do.officepest wrote:He probably just needed to move to get regular games. With us, you spend half the time falling asleep with our sideways shit, then we fck up and you have to be on your game. I think he's more suited to gaining confidence from throwing himself around and then his all round game probably improves. Evidenced from the semi at old trafford where his handling was excellent.

Re: Norwich vs Arsenal (Carrow Road Climax)
Arsène Wenger has revealed the latest team news ahead of the Norwich game at Carrow Road on Sunday:
on the team news…
We have everybody available who played against West Brom. We could have the return of Ramsey, he's available again. Wilshere could be in the squad for Sunday as well.
on Gibbs and Oxlade-Chamberlain…
Kieran Gibbs will be back in the squad as well. He is in normal training at the moment. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will still be out.
on Oxlade-Chamberlain making the FA Cup final…
I don’t know yet. He has not at all practised with the first team.

My plastic sheeting and laminate supplier is seriously pissed off that I had to cancel my order, as all my 'reserves' were used up last weekend

Well, the Fat Lady is about to sing and she's wearing a Man $hitty shirt. We are yet again just the 4th support act on the bill that no one will remember.
Oh! and that Goofy Fat Dyke will get a second title winners medal.

My old man is life long Gooner, retired to Norfolk and is going tomorrow with a couple of mates who support Norwich...he's in the home seats. Tried to get him tickets with us but failed miserably ! :cr

Been up there a couple of times in the home seats with no bother, quite a friendly, and passionate lot - they do support their team in numbers very well, not sure how relegation will go down, atmosphere might be a little muted or potentially hostile to board and manager ?
