The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

spot on.

4th place signings for a 4th place club.

rather sign no one than these 2. waste of money. little better than what we have
cynic. I bet Remy will be ace on the wing....

Arsene's virtual XI - the gift that gives and gives until you want to punch him in the face. It never fails to raise my blood pressure whenever this particular turd falls from Wenger's mouth.

Why must he tell us of every single player he was never actually close to signing?

Next week:

WENGER: I nearly travelled back in time and brought back the 20 year old Puskas, only to be gazumped by Chelsea.

We had the chance to sign Hazard and we blew it ,haggling below the buy out number which then went up after a certain date passed.
Hazard was pissed at the time because he though he was coming too and couldnt understand why the deal fell through.
Chelsea came in very late with us still tinkering around and simply made them an offer which they found acceptable .
He signed for Chelsea on 55 k a week too so its not like he would have broke the Bank.

We are in for a shock Podolski wants out ,Giroud wants out, plus the ones that are allready going flaps, bendy, sagna, then there park and myachi to ditch .

U think Wenger is capable of bringing in 7/10 players in a window ?

Especially in a World Cup year where of course we all know it is very quiet and we suffer artificial prices

However, there is still hope. If collectively Auxerre, Lens and Lorient let that many players go on free transfers we could still be saved

the Sagna situation tells you everything you need to know about this club.

Wenger is making a big deal at the moment about keeping the squad together BUT he is still penny pinching over his new contract. Of course to replace Sagna would cost even more money so we will have to make do with the inferior option of Jenkinson at RB next season, and the team continues to stagnate...

on MOTD last night they made the point that City have closed in on the title because they have kept the squad together that last won the title a couple of years ago.

it really is remarkable that the AKBs still think that the team could improve - 4th place and a cup final is the height of our ambition for years going forward.

regarding the sagna issue, ive read (not saying its anyway true)tht hes allegedly looking for a 3 yr deal ,100k a week and a signing on fee of 7m,now if tht is anywhere true well then my opinion is let him go,we would easily get coleman from everton for less than tht amount if he was willing to leave everton.

if my maths are right thts approx. 22.5m

you really think that Wenger would buy Coleman to replace him when we have Jenkinson at the club?

If Sagna can get that elsewhere then why wouldn't he ask for it. And if we lose him for free we will need to either downgrade in that position i.e. jenkinson or have to pay a substantial fee, plus wages and signing on fee anyway. It's a false economy to say he is not worth it. Of course there is a limit as to how much we should pay him but surely you look at the entire cost of the deal on both sides

Arsenal interested if Wenger doesn't sign...

Is that your own opinion or has it been reported/suggested in the media ?
mine. You really think the Board would sack/not re-sign wenger if Pep was available ?

i don't. the board will do what wenger wants.
The board IS wenger and Wenger IS the board, there is no way to separate them anymore, they have morphed into one unholy fecking propoganda, scheming, lying , rumour spinning money making machine...and we iz all F U C K E D.

sagna I think is 31 coleman 25 for similar money which is better long term, which I suppose wont really matter cos it would kill jenkinson and we cant have that
