Previous Norwich v Arsenal matches (Carrow Road)

Post by StuartL »

One of my favourite away days :) for a variety of reasons

1- was I think my first away ground (0-0 draw back in about 87)

2- It's local to me

3- I know a few canaries, due to a footballing affiliation.

Anyway, favourite recollection was a 4-2 victory in 88 ?, think we went behind before a superb 2nd half turnaround.https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... _SJo-A2jcI

Also recall Wright scoring a lovely chipped goal on the turn when the goalie went walkies in a cup victory.https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=p ... ms0vvIuZ5s

And a pre season friendly where Jeffers scored I think ?? :)

that '87 match is definitely most memorable. we started the 87-88 season in fantastic style, playing great football and winning by more than the odd goal which is something we wouldn't often do back then. We were leading the division but we started the match terribly and had to come from 2-0 down. The celebrations after we got the fourth were mad, through ecstasy that we were still top of the league, but also amazement we scored four away from home. Of course form dropped off and we finished about sixth/seventh? (much like the 84-85 season)

went there in the mid nineties too, a one of my favourite grounds, close to the pitch, intimate surroundings, decent allocation etc
