Says it all really. I don't watch Barca that often aside from clasicos and CL, but isn't he a winger and not a striker?

Sanchez would be a great signing. He would bring pace and directness to the team and is a good finisher. No doubt it's just rumours though, doubt Sanchez will leave Barca and if he does I can't see Wenger splashing out in excess of £20m for him.

Sanchez isn't comimg

Chelsea moved closer to completing a deal for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, 25, after the Spanish club started putting in place a bid for his replacement Carlos Bacca.

Sanchez was brilliant in Italy, took a while to get going at Barca, but has played really well this season. He very strong, quick and a brilliant dribbler. He's usually stationed wide right but has filled in a lot in the shadow striker role while Messi has been injured.
So far he's scored 18 and has got 10 assists. I'd love to see him in an Arsenal shirt.

Sanchez has 18 goals and 10 assists but Vela has 20 goals and 14 assists playing for a lesser team, would cost a fraction of what Sanchez would go for and knows Arsenal and the Premier League.
Sanchez or Vela?

Not Vela.
He was not happy with us, not happy living in London and carried too much weight.

Vela wants to return Quartz. Also there's no point referring to his first spell with us as he's now a totally changed player.

Re: Groundhog summer transfer window thread
There was never any doubt about Vela's technical ability, he scored some really nice chipped goals for us, usually in the League Cup.
But he was openly not able to settle in London or adapt to our way of life, and did not give a 100% professional approach.
He has improved, obviously.
With a bit more maturity he may be more focussed?
But I am concerned that he did not take to life here, and he as an individual may well be more suited to playing in Spain where the language and culture are closer to that of Mexico.
I prefer to go for someone else with more pace, my personal target would be the slick and taller Jackson Martinez, though I am well aware we would face a struggle to buy him, and also to buy Loic Remy to have three strikers including Giroud, with Walcott and Podolski (if he stays) and Joel Campbell as other options.
Send Sanogo and Akpom on loan for a season.

Shall we also not refer at Ian Huntley's previous conviction because he claims to be a totally changed man?1989 wrote:Vela wants to return Quartz. Also there's no point referring to his first spell with us as he's now a totally changed player.

Extreme example I know (law student habit, sorry) but of course you have to look at previous because what happens sets precedent. Look at Gervinho, good reputation when he came(all be it older than Vela), didn't make it at Arsenal and now doing rather well for Roma - do I want him back? No.
The English league doesn't suit some players and Vela is one of them players.

I thought Vela kind of capsulated everything that was and is wrong with our youth policy. He was a light-weight with the occasional flash. Speaking of which what happened to Miyachi?
