I'll watch it, I'll be happy for the win but it's nothing compared to the excitement that used to come with a Cup Final.

PS IF, IF - Wenger starts Sanogo and we do not win he should resign on the spot - having said that, i would be quite chuffed if the lad scored in a 1-0 win but i'd rather he came on at the 80th and put one away to make it 6-0.
No doubt the FA cup has sold its soul since manure opted out of the competition to play in the world club championship a few years back; but how can you dismiss that charlie george moment, alan sunderlands afro sprinting across the wembley turf, andy linighans broken nose goal, marc overmars vs newcastle, "its only ray parlour" and we love your freddie scoring screamers vs chavski, "USA, USA, USA " daylight robbery vs the mancs.

It kinda pisses me off to see the comments above, the FA cup is still a trophy worth winning, wish the haters would just disappear for a week. It would be nice to have another special moment to add to the list then you can carry on whingeing all summer because I wont be on the forum.
Having re-read, i think you need some comprehension practice - maybe during your summer break.
LOL! I was in bed typing that this morning. I hardly think the quality of my English detracts from the message I was trying to put across. Ohh and if you want to peddle English lessons I wont be knocking on your doorstep, its "I" not i!

What a numpty!

My missus has something planned for my 50th on Saturday, so will watch the game at home, otherwise I'd be pissed. Not actually 50 until the following week, but going to a wedding in Birmingham on my big day.

Perhaps SteveO may be able to shed some light onto whether or not your tickets will be coming?
Don't worry. He's already been on to that one. See below:

I wonder if Draxler or Joe Cole or Kalou has my one at the moment?
Don't worry bud - Sammy tells me that Zaha has one and Goetze has the other and they are dropping them off when their medicals are complete

1989 has spotted Higuain with a ticket too

How pissed off will Szczesny be if he doesn't play? I know he's a cocky prick at times but he is our number 1 and moreover our best keeper. For fucks sake its our first chance to win a trophy for 9 years. If he doesn't play Szczesny he might as well tell him he's never going to win anything with us. And i know he gets a medal if he's on the bench but for a sub keeper who hasn't played a minute it's not the same.

It really would be a classic Wenger decision if he decides to start with Fabianski. The only reason second choice keepers get to play in the cup normally is it keeps them happy and involved. But given Fabianski's contract is up this summer we have no reason to not pick the number one keeper but with Wenger you cannot rule out him doing it because it is the "fair" thing to do. It's a cup final, the last game of the season with no virtual trophy distractions, so pick your best team. If Fabianski doesn't like it, who cares.

It would also be unequivocal confirmation that winning trophies means less now than it did in 2002.

On the previous FA Cup finals thread on the clip from 2003, Wenger, back when he was sane, says that "we were desperate not to finish the season without a trophy". Says it all really about how things have changed

Some strange comments on this thread.

Don't care about winning it?

Hoping we chuck it to spite man utd?

Er yeah, anyways..

Fabianski will play because in some ****cked up way Arsene thinks he deserves it. The guy is leaving us, it makes no sense, he still an inferior keeper to Sczezney, and I fear that the flapping will return. Woj has got a fcuk up in him, but he still a better keeper.

If Arsene starts the misfit up front I will be depressed, even the novelty of him crashing into defenders has worn off, we need to score so play giroud. If we play anything other than our 1st 11 the coach needs to be sectioned, what would he possibly be saving them for??

Let's win this thing!!! Watching Vieira win us that cup in 2005 is starting to get blurry.

I've got my faith in Aaron and Per to deliver the goods. :barscarf:

Think thats a bit unfair mate- The Scum and Looserpool werent in The Quarters as we had alredy knocked them out, though all at home we havent exactly had an easy cup run at all, 2nd 6th and 5th in the PL and all played pretty muchh full teams. Sheffield had knocked Villa out because they were "concentrating on the league"

Its probably because we are in it but I think that the FA Cup is becoming a bit more attractive especially without the repeat replays that were a major drag to fixture conjestion.

I could be proven wrong but I reckon Flappy will defo start and its more than likely that wake me up Yaya Sanogo will also start.

There was some serious manlove between flappy and Wenger after the semi and flappy is his go-to keeper for cup games. Wenger wont change.

Put money on Wenger starting Sanogo and Flappy. This is the man who started Hoyte, Traore and Aliadiere in the final back in '07.

He's got form.

I recogn there should be spell/grammar checker on the forum as it seems when poster A goes on the defensive that's the first retort!

I had to rummage through my old school stuff this morning to find my O Level English certificate just to re-assure my delicate little soul. Bloody old it is too but it's a proper qualification. Nothing like those GCSE's that are soo easy to pass, they give them out on bog roll!

I blame Bill Gates personally, Microsoft have made us all lazy !

With regards to the Globe, it was a good crack before the semi and no doubt a lot from the forum made the pub ours. Shame not as many peeps have tickets for the final.
