THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

@Quartz:
In a squad he's been part of for several seasons and was in part specifically engineered around backing him up (with Carroll unceremoniously dumped). Very different situation.

@Theoperator:
I don't share your pessimism. I could be wrong, but I might not. ;)

Luis Suarez has scored wherever he has played.

His worst Premier season was a respectable 11 in 31 league goals, last season 22 in 31, this season 31 in 33.

Knows the league, speaks the language, a whirlwind hungry beast of a goal machine.

Not a team in the world he would not improve.

Seriously, get a grip.
Your man Wenger has not won the league since 2004, he has suffered embarrasing defeats and been tactically destroyed.
We are not abysmal, far from it, and have a good platform to build from, better than any summer since 2008.
But build we must, or face a decline.

He's also an utter racist shitbag who I'd feel uncomfortable having play for a club I support.

AW's off to Brazil - let's see what (if anything - I hope he does!) he comes back with...

This may be true but has absolutely nothing to do with him improving our squad or not which is what you were insisting earlier. :?

Tense mistake fixed. :wink:

The point is that Suarez showed no interest in coming to London and I can't see him having the same impact on our stats as he did on LFC's.

It's clear why he hasn't signed yet. He's waiting on the outcome of the Cup final.

as if he gives two shits about it. it's just an exhibition match to him, he knows the fans are eager for silverware but his arrogance is unlimited to not giving it any thought. do you believe he's preparing big money bids if we fail to win the thing? he will never change his policy, ozil was the exception to the rule i'm afraid

McDowell that bloke is basically the Italian Geoff. The kind of bloke that has a bullshit scoop and then when it doesn't happen makes up a back story to save face (like with Real Madrid apparently reneging on an agreed Higuain deal, as if Wenger wouldn't be crying in the media if that happened).
