Arsenal v England

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I can honestly say I will be dancing for joy when Ingerland come a cropper, I don't think they will win a single game. As for the Arsenal players, I tend to hope that they don't play or can be in no way blamed for the defeat. (that sentiment won't however be extended to Wilshere because I don't like the little shit) :barscarf:

i used to love England as kid, actually up to about Euro 2000 - but that was more about going to the games abroad - France '98, Euro 2000 etc but then i realised I too hated most of the team and i asked me self why was i supporting and expecting success from a team with the two Nevilles and Nicky Butt in it, managed by one dross manager after another...

At those two tournaments I also started going to watch 'other' teams and realised how much more enjoyable it was to follow Holland and France and watch top class superstars.

this year, i'll watch every Holland, Belgium and Spain game and pretty much try to ignore England.

in short i guess, my national pride has been overtaken by hatred of the overpaid chavy pikeys like Rooney who represent us in football - i don't feel the same about any other sport though, and never hated Shearer, Owen, Robson or Keegan when they had an England shirt on.
