THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Overwhelming support for Wenger at the parade yesterday.

Guess I'm part of the deluded majority.

No, just a fucking wanker.

As the old saying goes, just because you are in a majority doesn't make you right.

No need for the name calling and personal insults, mate.

Gunner Rob wrote:I still want Wenger gone, BUT on the back of the FA Cup win and now the inevitable 3 year contract extension I think everyone is just going to have to try to get behind the guy again.

one of the main reasons I want Wenger gone is because he has in recent years divided the fanbase.
after a cup win a divided fanbase should be the least of our concerns. It should bring us all together more and hopefully with a more united support the team can move forward on the pitch regardless of the :censored: in charge.
I hate having a divided fanbase and part of the brilliance of Saturday is long-term views on Wenger were put aside for a few hours. Never been so desperate to win a game and tbh probably meant more to me than any of the FA Cup wins, certainly at the time.

But the fans' views have had no impact on our success as a club or Wenger's project. I'm still supporting the club as much as ever and tbh when I get to games it makes no difference whether I 'get behind Wenger' or not.

Cant see Wenger moving volontarily "upwards". He does have qualites still, but glaring faults that top teams and managers spot each and almost every time.

Been really interesting hearing past players views, Frank Mclintock was surprisingly (Well maybe not ) sensible and crititical in his way, but David "be careful with what you wish for" Seamon was embarassing(For me anyway) in his view. Wrighty though could barely look at the camera as he clearly has changed his view in recent times. I think I heard GG talking as well :?

Isnt Mclintock pretty involved in the club still?

Incidentally best wishes to Bob Wilson I gather had a big op the week of the final

Wonderful response, well done.
Sorry there is such a feel good factor surrounding our manager.
You must be really pissed off at Saturday's outcome.....

I'm trying mate, I really am. But people like him waiting for the earliest opportunity to take pot shots at those not in the Church of Arsene are just pathetic.

We have just won our first trophy for 9 years and the first thing they do is come here and moan and be generally negative about our future.

Am buzzing for next season and pleased Wenger has been rewarded for his efforts.

Have no doubt at all that the signing of Ozil will be followed by signing 2-3 world class players.
With the likes of Gibbs, Ramsay and Walcott resting over the summer, they will be fresh and fully motivated for next season.

So much to look forward to......shame the Wenger haters can't enjoy the good times.......
another totally deluded fantasist

Delighted as I am that we won the cup, I saw nothing in Saturday's performance that should merit a new contract for Wenger. And to award him one based on a huffing & puffing defeat of 16th placed Hull by a single goal would be idiocy of the highest order. Which is why I expect it to happen imminently. :banghead:

Seriously, do you AKBs really think Wenger's has totally changed after Saturday & we're gonna stroll to every piece of silverware going? No, it's gonna be more of the same.

Maybe I'm clutching at straws, but I'm really glad Kroenke was there on Saturday to taste the success. Maybe now, if he doesn't get it next year, he'll miss it and be less tolerant of Wenger if he fails to achieve it.
