I dont think there will be any change in transfer policy and am not at all convinced that we will sign another striker this summer. If we didnt in January when we had a chance of winning the league then dont expect it to happen now that we have won a trophy.

however whereas in the past the AKBs have been tolerant of 4th place finishes might they now get more demanding now they have tasted success?

It's very likely that Loic Remy will be coming.

Although he's not the marquee name, nor world class talent we need - he's definitely an upgrade on Giroud and will add another dimension to our game via his pace.

Although I must say it will be rather underwhelming if he's the only striker we bring in...

why buy Remy when we have Sanogo who is a cup winner ?

Higuain was certain to come last summer and didnt - Remy is by no means certain to come.

Not so sure about that. I'd say he is at a similar level to Giroud tbh. The only area I see him as being vastly better in than Giroud is pace. They have similar scoring stats over the last few years (but you could argue that Giroud has done well to score as many as he has in a system that absolutely does not play to his strengths) but I think Giroud must have more assists just by the nature of his role in our set up. Also, our system isn't designed around a pacey striker being vital for it to succeed tbh. We'd still tippy tappy it around about 25 yards out with him standing up there on his own getting poor supply.

If we brought Remy in we'd need to change our system. Can anyone see Arsene doing that? :rubchin:

More likely Remy would spend half the season replacing Sagna.

As I have said before, the problem starts at the back.
The back 4 are always vulnerable to pace, hence we need a 5 man midfield (3 central, 2 wide) to compensate.
This will always leave only 1 striker spot.
We are still set up as if Fabregas has never left.
Get some pace across the defence and maybe 2 strikers is an option, even against the better teams.
Remember we only played 1 up against Coventry, if you don't play 2 strikers against that quality when will you?

The left side of our defence has plenty of pace - Koscielny and Gibbs are both very quick. Sagna and Mertesacker especially aren't quick but saying that their positioning and reading of the game largely compensates.

The reality is us playing 5 men in midfield at the moment doesn't inherently offer any more protection than 4 would. The extra man will be Ozil or Cazorla playing AMC and in that role neither really offers anything defensively, and playing 1 up front puts pressure on the wingers to play further forward. Sagna could expect far more protection under a normal 4-4-2 than he gets from Walcott playing essentially as a wing-forward.

I'm still yapping ten to the dozen about the cup win. Nothing can take back that winning moment, but I remain focused and committed, and I shall show great mental strength and resolution with my will to see that fucking clown leave our club.
The bloke is a fucking disgrace.

My own opposition to Wenger's continued tenure will continue unabashed and with no lack of sharpness (in the final third).

The bloke is what, 64? Surely time for a pipe and slippers after winning the cup.

As much as I would have liked to see a change at the top I, like all of you lot, have to accept that it isn't going to happen. If there is one thing that is for certain he will not get sacked mid-term. He'll go when he is ready and not before. The board will never intervene!

So that leaves us two choices:-

1. Moan like a bunch of bitches or,
2. Get behind the manager and the team and do what supporters do.....support!

I am by no means an AKB...read some of my previous posts on this thread and you'll see that. I just think that we now need to put this to bed and move forward with a new season in August. Hopefully the old goat will have added a couple of decent players to the squad by then and we can push for more success.

Also, to the midget jackeen muvva fucka from Dublin. If you've read God10's book you'll know that he has expressly stated that he doesn't want to be a manager. He prefers to be in a technical coaching role in the background. Your not telling us anything we don't already know.
So get a grip you dozy fucktard

Yes SPUDTARD, I have read it and am aware that the other DB10 doesn't want to be a manager. I was actually addressing the other poster's comments, you ill-educated fuckwound!

Ya little liar.......you got one of your kids to read it to you didn't you.

Poor, poor Rodders... sitting there, locked in your basement, covered in your own faeces, crying softly to yourself, repeating over and over, "But we won the war, Ma... Johnny ain't dead... we won the war..."
