As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Somebody should let lefty know - might entice him to return after his sharp departure at the weekend
Come back lefty, we all miss you......and not just for the shit jokes
France not getting a look in is shocking. I think they have every chance of beating the Germans. Griezmann and Ribery running at Per and Hummels? Not so gut for the Krauts.
Better chance than Colombia (you've listed the University, not the country up there btw), the Dutch, England, Belgium or Chile.

France will implode as they always do in the big tournaments. With *word censored* like Evra in the camp there will too many infightings and ego clashes for them to achieve any kind of success.
Smart money is on Spain. They have by far the best squad of players and have the experience of winning the big tournaments. With Diego Costa added to an already all conquering team they'll be hard to stop.

Not so sure. A lot of that came down to Domenech. Anelka and Gallas also aren't there.
A few similarities between this and the last cricket world cup in India in my opinion (apart from the game obviously) A vast and populous tinderbox of a host country with a large gap between rich and poor that lives and breathes the game, conditions that not many participating teams from abroad are used to, huge levels of support but also pressure on the home team. But like India i expect Brazil and their star players to rise to the occasion

Not what I think and of all the recent tournaments this has quite a few teams in with a real shout.
Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Germany the main contenders but Columbia and Chile can not be counted out.
And Italy, Uruguay and Netherlands have an outside chance too.
FIFA: watch as they hoover vast sums (tax-free, natch) from yet another nation before buggering off.
That Qatar is hosting one is an absolute disgrace: indentured servants? Check. Tiny population? Check. Complete lack of football pedigree? Abso-fucking-lutely. There are many nations in the Middle East/North Africa that one could make a rational argument for hosting one of these jollies - but Qatar? The mind fairly boggles.
If they really wanted to 'grow the game' then why not Oz? Perhaps because they haven't thrown hundreds of millions of Euros at a certain French team.

we spent 50m on our bid but turns out excessive wining, dining, travel and gifts just don't match folding ones in the skyrocket. The whole thing is corrupt, it just comes more naturally to some cultures.
Can't see any non South American teams winning. Brazil and Argentina are obvious but I've had a decent wager on Uruguay.
Of the rest, Spain clearly but Belgium look a good side to me whilst France will have the easy run.
