England World Cup Drinking Venue

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

England World Cup Drinking Venue

Post by nut flush gooner »

Before the forum gets spammed by our friend trying to flog his rip off parties for the world cup. Red action are helping promote a screening of each group game at the forum Kentish town. The venue holds 2,000 and tickets are free but must be bought in advance. They have £15 tickets which include a 3 beers a burger and a bit more comfort upstairs.

I should imagine there will be a cracking atmosphere and loads of gooners turning up for this one.

29/05/14 - England World Cup screenings

Now that the real season is over, we have the small matter of the World Cup to look forward to. After the success of our FA Cup Final screenings, which got hundreds of Gooners together to create a great atmosphere, we are partnering with Mama Group venues in London to screen England's World Cup games.

Kentish Town Forum (which holds 2,000 people) will be showing each of England's group games. There are two types of ticket: free entry downstairs (you need a ticket in advance, but they are free); or a VIP area upstairs, where £15 gets you 3 beers and a burger.

Tickets are available now, from here (all screenings are open to 18+ only, and ID will be required):

Italy - Saturday 14th June, doors open 8pm, kickoff 11pm - 14th June
Uruguay - Thursday 19th June, doors open 6pm, kickoff 8pm - 19th June
Costa Rica - Tuesday 24th June, doors open 4pm, kickoff 5pm - 24th June

More info on any further screenings to come - either more venues (for the Italy game in particular), or for further games (if there are any)!

Nah only yoking, I am not sure what the presence off the forum was like for the cup final but it didn't seem like there was half as much interest as the semi. It didn't matter mind because we took the pub anyway despite a large hull contingent on one side.

With regards to the world cup, Baker Street is just outside hardcore Arsenal territory and therefore you will get more of a mix of footy fans (including chelski muppets who know fuck all about football) plus tourists. I would rather be in north London where there will be a sizeable Gooner contingent, thanks to Redactions promotion. Kentish Town locally is also more of an Arsenal stronghold than Spurs. The forum is a music venue, so it will be open plan plus they will have a massive screen.

The Globe will be absolutely rammed with Shammers and Chavs when the Ingerlund games are on. A sea of Burberry will be on display !
