As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Just listen to him, what a tosser.
You can want wenger out by all means, i have no problem with that, each to their own. But at least have respect for our greatest ever manager.
Not True, anyone who calls for Wenger Out you deem a WOB. -I love the guy and want him to leave before that well earned affection in the many thousands of Gooners turns to negativity. simples

Sweeping statement ! I still reckon Georgie did well with much fewer resources and distinctly average players and obviously Chapman is in with a shout too.
Bloody hell, arguing George is on a par with Wenger....??!!??
Have a day off mate.....
just read about OGL's latest plutocrat contract. You know how it is when you are expecting some news for ages, then when it actually happens, it feels a shock and you feel awful?
3 more years of Punksatawney (sp) Arsene. What a way to start a weekend.
Sir Chips and the other muppets now only have 3 more years in which to identify his successor, assuming he doesn't stay on until he's 80.
As it was more or less a forgone conclusion, I didn't really care about the renewal. Yes, it will be painful at times, but hopefully we can have 3 more years like this one at worst. If he can buy quality in depth, which he is indicating that he may do, then at least I can hope.
Taking aside the three heavy defeats, we did better than I thought that we would this year especially considering the lack of depth in key areas. I still think that he lacks the ability tactically to change things, but I wonder if Simone's 4-4-2 will have him thinking about changing the system. We certainly perform better in that setup and I think that with Bould's impact defensively, I wonder how we would fare - probably better, imo.
However, he has to spend on quality in a lot of areas if he are to challenge and last the distance next term and I harbour many doubts as if he will buy in all the positions that we need.

Firstly, GG is still our best ever manager and his trophies to seasons ratio will beat that out
Secondly, respect is a two way street - I know that I'm not from asia, but seeing as I WAS paying over 2k for season tickets every season, I think that I deserve more respect than to listen arsole wenker saying how he would love to fill the stadium with Asians tourists every week. Having been a footie fan of almost 40 years, I also feel that I have earned the right to speak about what I see in a game without being disrespected by a c*nt who claims that only managers deserve to air their opinions Maybe a new rule should be brought into the professional game where only players who have played at the top level of the game can become managers - that would rule out all the arrogant no name cocks who played French 2nd division football but still believe that they know it all

Yeah but the term "akb" is used on me a lot more than i call anyone a wob, a LOT more. And im not even an akb, if that stands for "arsene knows best" then im far from it. Its all these keyboard warriors chucking insults about.

It is interesting, pretty much every other Arsenal forum/website I've been on today it is nearly the opposite. The WOBs are the ones being shouted down and most people are somewhere between neutral and positive about it. Of course this isn't any kind of proof that one point of view is right or wrong but it is interesting. While other big clubs like Liverpool and the Mancs have one big forum with a melting pot of opinions, in Arsenal world you can choose between a variety of small forums as long as you fit in with the prevailing view of the club.
Personally when I heard the news I didn't really feel much at all. People can believe what they want and they can mention as many flavour-of-the-month names as they like but there is not a queue around the block of managers that would be guaranteed to propel us above City and the Chavs in the league. Wenger has his faults as a manager and there is no defending our baffling tactical approach to big away games (Dortmund aside) but we have definitely progressed this season.
For possibly the first time since 2006 we have a team that you don't expect to have a 3 goal lead before you feel confident of winning. There seems to be a real togetherness in the team and in Mertescielny, Ramsey and Ozil we have a strong spine to build around.
If there is one thing I can't stand it's people who make predictions about the future in football. How many people put their necks on the line at the start of the season and said the mancs would finish 7th and Liverpool a very close 2nd? Although there were promising signs the season before how many predicted Ramsey would become one of our most important players? That could be Wilshere or Gnabry next season or nobody at all, who fucking knows?
I guess my point is that last season was a season to try and build on. While I don't think it would have been the end of the world for the club if he hadn't signed I'm not going to cry into my hotdog either.
No manager on the planet could guarantee propelling us above Citeh and Chavs. To be honest it is a huge ask to match them year in year out with their resources, although they are far from unbeatable or the cream of the crop even with a brash attitude you have to acknowledge we have constraints that they don't. But the only time we've looked capable of winning the league in the last 9 seasons was 2007/08 and we were out of that before April, it's just not good enough.
We have also made progress, definitely. But it's still well off where we should be aiming for and giving Wenger's sheer-mindedness in the transfer market and with his tactics combined with his stubbornness we are destined to be nearly-men at best when it comes to the PL, and we haven't got a hope in hell of getting anywhere near the CL.
I'm delighted we won the FA and although we avoided playing any of United, City and Chavs who we have a collectively horrendous record against and were given excellent opportunities to knock out challengers with home draws and two easy Wembley opponents, we played very well. Spurs, Liverpool and Everton were all strong performances, and teams have reached the final with far far easier runs than that. But for all his talk about how important it was, Wenger's real view on the FA Cup is betrayed by his team selections. He rested a number of players every round and even started Sanogo in the fucking semi-final. Even starting Fabianski shows how he values the FA Cup compared to a decade ago when Wright was bombed out for Seaman. He will continue to play weakened teams all the way through the competition (or as far as we get) over the next 3 years and this really reduces our chances of winning it again.
FFS, nothing said on here will alter anything, some hate him some like or love him, move on, guys signed, we all have views on that, but doesnt help to bite each other does it?
3 more years of the best football this clubs ever witnessed, relieved more than anything.
Yes, I seem to remember the great football that we played in the 6-0, 6-3 and 5-1 defeats against Chelsea, Man City and Liverpool respectively.... anyway, you are a right WUM, you were a WUM the first time you were here and an even bigger one once you returned!!
Bollocks. I'm a WUM just because i've always stuck with the manager
You all pick out them 3 poor performances far too much you know, clutching straws. CL football, beat the scum 3 times, won the FA cup and played quality i'd say 80% of the season anyway.
The majority on here like you are just pricks that want to whinge about everything.
How delusional are you, this wasn't a case of the team putting in a few bad performances, it was a manager being found out tactically. Explain how we lose 5-1 to Liverpool, but don't approach the game any differently when we played Chelsea, we made the exact same mistakes, and then did the exact same thing against Everton, please explain how this is not Wengers fault? Also we qualified for the CL, but will make zero attempt at actually winning it, as Wenger will never buy the players we need, example being no striker last January. Lastly, you along with all the other AKB'S were quite happy to say its not all about trophies, when anyone would criticise Wenger, but you are now happy to use the trophy argument in your favour.

Mate, Arsenal play like Barcelona to a lesser degree right. Like them, we know ONE way how to play and that's what we will continue to do. The difference is the quality of the players on the pitch. Which is about to be resolved this summer. And you're wrong about the trophies, to me football is ALL about winning trophies, they're the days you remember. But put things into perspective a bit, they don't come around much for any teams now except the billionares.
So many people I've seen on here said "we'll never win another trophy under this *word censored* again" ...
Say what you like but that he has proven you all wrong on that one.
I think the thing that saddens me is that most of us on here know that Wenger is incapable of ever challenging for the title again and that the board show no ambition in anything higher than 4th either.
topcat you'll happily call people out for predicting the future or blind pessimism yet you blithely declare that we are going to go out and bridge the gap between us and Barcelona, which is about the most baseless claim I've seen on here.
Barcelona had one system that they were so good at they were arguably the best team Europe has seen in the past few decades. They still have a squad with a sickening amount of ability and experience, players who are dedicated to the club and extremely familiar with the system and each other, and they've been found wanting domestically and in Europe because that's how handicapping a lack of tactical versatility is.
