THE WENGER THREAD
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
The funny thing is, Wonga is in charge of EVERYTHING, so he has just written his new contract himself and given himself a big fat pay rise.
Greedy bastard. Pure and simple. Bangs on about socialist pay, keep the players on a level playing field etc and trousers money himself left right and centre. Greedy greedy bastard with the worlds biggest ego. Hate the man.

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
The thing is there are many Gooners who are fed up to the back teeth with the lamentable progress of the team under Wenger over the past 9 seasons.....anyone with an iota of noggin will know the same team cannot win all the trophies year in year out - but we should have by now won more than we have considering the size of the club...and the reason for people's insulting wenger is that they have no other course of action - other than protest and writing to the club to voice their feelings and opinions - something I do constantly (politely - as if you just write insults - it gets binned - though I'm certain even the polite letters get the same treatment)....so what else are they meant to do with all their pent up frustration and anger - besides do a Rodders!?topcat wrote:Yeah but the term "akb" is used on me a lot more than i call anyone a wob, a LOT more. And im not even an akb, if that stands for "arsene knows best" then im far from it. Just listen to him, what a tosser.
You can want wenger out by all means, i have no problem with that, each to their own. But at least have respect for our greatest ever manager.
Not True, anyone who calls for Wenger Out you deem a WOB. -I love the guy and want him to leave before that well earned affection in the many thousands of Gooners turns to negativity. simples
I Totally understand why some on here say they 'hate' wenger - they have been fans for far far longer than he has been manager or in football - and will continue to be so - long after he's gone....the thing is Arsenal F C has changed under his control - on all levels - they have become corporate beyond belief - all Prem Clubs have to in order to survive in the prem - BUT - they should still listen to those people who keep them in a job - But they DON'T.
Profit before Trophies is the new mantra in the inner sanctum of Arsenal FC - and the likes of us can nothing about it other than stop buying tickets/season tickets/merchandise/food& drinks/anything to do with the club.....but that means turning your back on something we love and have done so since we were kids.
Basically they've got us all by the short & curlies and we is F*CKED.

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Question for all you c*nts that are celebrating wenkers new contract ........how many backroom changes are you expecting this summer ? Everybody says that things need changing but you lot dont believe the manager needs changing and have cited injury problems as one of the main reasons in our decline, so ARE YOU EXPECTING BACKROOM CHANGES THEN ? Will we see an overhaul of our medical and physio personnel ? Will we see coaches replaced with people with newer, fresher and more suitable training programmes for our players ? Will we witness a shake up in the scouting staff who seem unable to identify quality players at any price for the club to buy ? Surely there has to be several changes in the way the club is run right ?
The reality is that there will be no changes - we are stuck with the same manager who has the same idea's and will have the same loyalty to his backroom staff but the one positive in all this, is that it will allow the pro wenker camp to continue to lay the blame for our failures on everyone else bar the man who is responsible

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Wonder if Wenger was holding out for assurances that there would be no interference to his grip on all aspects of running the club.
The Ozil signing and rumours of some dis-enchantment among board members and announcements from Gazidis about looking at our terrible injury problems - all infringing on Wenger territory....
Just a thought though.
Maybe it was the other way round and the board was holding out for Wenger to agree to start easing his grip on some departments.

Well since you ask so nicely...augie wrote:Question for all you c*nts that are celebrating wenkers new contract

Not that I celebrated his contract in the slightest but I'm glad that you know so much about our backroom staff, I never realised it was a given that the whole thing needs ripping up. I have no data to compare to other clubs but it does feel like we get more muscle injuries but whether that means we need a change in personnel or just a tweak in how we train I DON'T KNOW BECAUSE I HAVE NO INSIDE KNOWLEDGE.
This is all guff though, am I right in thinking that your hatred basically boils down to the fact that he once praised Asian fans when in Asia?

Actually I wasnt digging at you (or topcat for that matter) because I have always felt that you can see both sides and dont blindly follow

My points regarding the shake up in backroom staff are based on the fact that we have had the same backroom staff for years now - in sports, methods change on a regular basis and where wenger's methods were once dubbed inovative, now they are left behind and need freshening up. The injuries issue isnt a new issue - the records will show that we have had a much higher number of muscle injuries each season than any of our premiership rivals and yet this shows no sign of abating. Personally I dont know or care whether the blame lies in the type of training we do or if the way these injuries are treated are to blame, but what I do know is that it has gone on way too long and something has to change.
My hatred of arseole wenker has nothing to do with his comments about asian fans and the only time I actually bring that up is when people lecture me about showing him respect when I feel he shows us fans fcuk all respect. My hatred is borne out of his refusal to walk away and the clubs refusal to sack him - my anger towards him is based on his refusal to spend the available funds, his total lack of tactical nous (the 70th minute subs is a joke), his inability and unwillingness to change his formation when it clearly isnt working and doesnt suit the players available, his socialist attitude to player contracts (in contrast to his own of course

Of course I really hate the way our club is now viewed as arsene fc - media, opposition fans and many Gooners speak about our club like it was nothing before wenker came along when any knowledgable fan will point to how big of a club we have been for the last 80 years. When wenker leaves it is quite possible that we will have a period of change that might not yield immediate success but we are and always will be a huge club and we will bounce back regardless. I know that wenger's successor wont be allowed to remain in charge for 9 seasons without a trophy and rightfully so, but yet we have allowed a guy to stay in charge without reproach for that length of time
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
3 MORE FUCKING YEARS!!
Without doubt this is the lowest I have ever felt about Arsenal. The FA cup win came at a price and for me it wasn't anywhere near enjoyable enough to suffer 3 more years of Wenger.
I cannot do 3 more years with him in charge. I don't even think I got to May 2014 without losing the plot. I had very mixed feelings when Metersacker equalised against Wigan and any cup final win was always going to tainted with the circumstances surrounding it. No fan should ever get to that stage but that's what happens when an intolerable situation is allowed to continue year after year.
And it is also what happens when a least half of the fans of your own club - people who you expect to have an affinity with - hold a completely opposite view on such crucial matters.
I just cannot stand alongside anyone who Is celebrating Wenger's new contract and I cannot look at them as being on the same side as me. I just don't want anything to do with them (and no doubt they will say the same about me). I have utter contempt for Wenger and anyone who supports him is an enemy to me and a massive hindrance to what I want to see happening at the club.
Its gone beyond being about opinions now. This is the future of the club we are talking about. For me the club has just written off any chance of winning a title for the next 3 seasons and maybe more. And the division among the fans will remain.
I cannot believe what has happened to Arsenal. How the fuck did it get like this?

Over the years I have listened to opposition fans take the piss out of our players (rvp rape rumours) and managers (GG bungs and aw peado) but I have always fronted up and defended our people, but when I hear opposition fans chanting about how they want wenker to stay, it really cuts me up
These fans recognise how much harm it is doing retaining him and they openly take the piss about it, but yet our board reward him with a new increased contract and some of our fans celebrate it like it is great news
