As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
and you think players of that ilk will come here???? Maybe if we won the league last year and not the Cup.
Ozil was being forced out, it was a wise move for him but that type of striker is never coming here because the club wont pay the wages that go with the fee.
No, as I said, none of those strikers are available -even if they were it'd be a longshot because as you pointed out we don't pay the highest wages, nor have we been very successful as of late.
With that being said, we're talking about a group of about 5-7 elite strikers; there's other players slightly less prestigious who could come in and take us up another level. We have the makings of a very special team, we're only missing a few key elements and we'll be able to compete for the top honours.
Included in that are Viviano ,Fabianksi,Sagna,Kallstrom,Bendtner, who have all left
Also included IS Ryo Myachi and Gidion Zalalem who haven’t featured much in any way I have no opinion on Gidion but Ryo is a miss.
Further included is Walcott who isn’t fit and won’t be for some time.
That leaves 20 players, makes you wonder why we have such a large wage bill (CLUE : wages get paid to non playing staff) !
We need at least 4/5 top class players and another 5 decent squad players just to stand still.
We could add Akpom and Coquelin and possibly Cambell as Squad players but that still leaves a lot to be done
My worry is that we might not have the basic infrastructure for the major job in front .
Recent history shows we dont .
Once again we have another watershed Year which we have managed to duck for years n years ,this might be the one ?
History tells us that transfer fees rise considerably after a world cup !

Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are set to miss out as Real Madrid and Juventus plan a swap deal involving midfielder Arturo Vidal, 27, and striker Alvaro Morata, 21. Daily Express
Just as we knew back in January.........Morata isn't coming
The African cup of nations disappearing act will be a pain in the a**e.
Pain in the arse maybe, but not enough reason not to sign him. Think this fella is one of the best around in the PL. If we had to do without him for 6-8 weeks every other year it shouldn't stop us. Back in the day it used to happen regularly with the likes of Kolo and Kanu but we'd built squads strong enough to cope.
Suarez misses 6-8 weeks of every season for other reasons but I'd still take him over some of the shite we've had up front and available every week

Daily Mail says that Chelsea is now after Cesc to replace Lampard and that Cesc is now their priority number one to that position. Apparently Arsenal, Manu and Citeh has cooled down their interest on him and that the deal might be done even before World Cup.

Apparently we have made some inquiries about Bony. Bony Boy would be available around 19m... which will of course make us turn our backs on this transfer...
Aurier is negotiating with two other PL clubs as we haven't apparently taken any formal contact yet. As someone pointed out here, this might be just agent talk...
But Wenker, make that fucking contact if you want to sign this lad! Of course the agents are trying to rise interest from other clubs too to get better deal for him. That's why the deal should be done fucking quickly if you want this kid.
Apparently we are going to miss the possibility on Morata too as Real and Juve are preparing a swap deal between Morata and Vidal... Our hunt for proper striker should be aimed higher than this anyway, but...

There has to be a shed load of money going Juvenile's way because you do not swap a top midfielder like Vidal for a Real bench warmer.
We'd all prefer an experience striker so not really a big deal.

Yep, you are right, not a big deal really. But, as better striker recruitment is unlikely, even this would have been upgrade to poor old Sanogo... Well, let's see what happens.
Not that I have seen enough of the kid to make a definitive assessment, but any time I have seen morata lately he hasn't impressed at all. To me he appears to lack pace and he could get away with that in the English game if he had physical presence, but he certainly doesn't have that.
Isnt the vidal guy from juve one of the best DMs playing in Europe ? Maybe I am mixing him up with another player but I thought that a couple of seasons ago every top club in Europe wanted him Maybe we should try signing him from juve if he is on the market
