Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas is being linked with a return back to the Barclays Premier League
PUBLISHED 03 JUNE 2014 10:12 PM

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla admits he would like to see Cesc Fabregas to come back to the Gunners as speculation mounts about a Barclays Premier League return for the Barcelona midfielder.
Fabregas was a big hit during his eight-year spell at Arsenal and was given the captain's armband in 2008 before securing a dream move back to Barcelona in 2011.

However, with Barca set for a period of rebuilding under new coach Luis Enrique following a rare barren season, Fabregas has been widely linked with a return to England this summer.

Chelsea are said to be frontrunners for the 27-year-old but Cazorla, who is part of Spain's World Cup squad alongside Fabregas, hopes the midfielder ends up back at the Emirates.

He was quoted by the Spanish press: "I've read that he could go to Chelsea but I'd prefer him to come to Arsenal because he's a great player and they really love him there.

"I don't know what his future is, but I hope that he will be happy and enjoys the team wherever he is."

Cazorla, who joined Arsenal in 2012, also defended Fabregas' displays in the Primera Division, adding: "I don't think there's a big difference between Cesc's performances in the Premier League and La Liga.

"His statistics are great at Barcelona but he's not valued the same as in England. There's no difference in his numbers, he's adapted perfectly to both leagues."

I understand your points about Cesc not being our priority number one with that price tag. I still think that we should absolutely sign him. We have very mediocre player like Arteta that Cesc could easily replace. I can't think of any valid reason why Cesc couldn't play as a deep lying playmaker alongside defensive midfielder.

The player says he's is coming to Arsenal on twitter, look at the retweet of a video from a gooner on 1 June. Not sure how concrete this is.

If Cesc were to play alongside a defensive midfielder we'd have to drop Ramsey - no way should/does that happen. He's developing into a world class player and is the heartbeat of the team.

It seems that Costa deal to Chelsea is close or done already. 32m... that would have been good recruitment for us too, but no.

Never heard about this Ospina guy before... But, I'm getting fucking tired of us to look only into Ligue1 or 2. How difficult it is to scout maybe other countries for a while. Ligue 1 is shit league and we shouldn't bother... :banghead:

Ed - you are going to give yourself a brain aneurysm if you keep getting worked up about bollocks.

If it is any consolation, I took David Ospina as a started in Football Manager 2013 and he was excellent in the Prem, so that means that he must be good ;-)

:D :D :D Yeah, you are right!

The mighty FM! I have played that myself quite a lot. If he was good in FM, surely he must be good IRL :barscarf:

Here is a rumour that is probably bollocks, but as it isn't a player, but a coach, it could hold a bit more water :-)

Maybe for real this time :D Costa's injury has apparently been one big obstacle on why this haven't happened before which makes sense of course.

Personally I think that turan or felipe luis would be better signings for us although I was hugely impressed with gabi in champs league final 8)
