Agree 100%. There is not an one reason in the whole world that makes it possible to compare these two.DB10GOONER wrote:And before some dizzy bitch compares Cesc's wrangling a move to RVJC wrangling a move, and comes out with the classic "yeah but you hate RVJC and treat Cesc like he did no wrong" can I just say go fuck yourself. Cesc gave everything in our jersey for year after year and had to do it often playing with Uber-Shit like Mong, LegoHead, Hleb, Vela etc etc etc...

100% agree.DB10GOONER wrote:
Bang on. I don't think re-signing Cesc should be anywhere near our priority (we need a new RB, CH, LB, proper first striker and GK more than another passing midfielder tbh) but I would be thrilled the moment I saw him slot that first goal for us. The same as I was when THBW14 slotted that one against Leeds in the cup. I think most Gooners would love to see him back (some secretly) regardless.
Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Insigne is a winger. Story is probably rubbish but if the attitude really is 'play well in the World Cup and we'll put in an offer' then it's insane. If he's worth £17m now, plays well he'll be worth twice thatEd Hunter The Gooner wrote:Another story from Metro... Arsenal are keeping close eye on Lorenzo Signia from Napoli.

To me it looks that this guy is a attacking midfielder...

It's 11am and I need a drink. Cesc in a Chelsea shirt can do that to you

Yep, winger he is. Apparently we need more players to our midfield, but it seems that Cesc doesn't qualify to that group...Sam59 wrote:Insigne is a winger. Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Why do you guys do this to yourselves. Every transfer window is the same. We'll be linked with hundreds of players mainly by papers trying to sell copies or wums having a laugh on twitter. We will sign a few average players at the end of August, unless ST renewals are slow when we'll get another Ozil type.

That's the whole point though chippy isn't it - most of us "vets" know that le cock wont sign any player of note so for some of our fans to oppose re-signing cesc in the belief that signing top players for other positions should happen first, is ridiculous. We wont sign a javi Martinez. We wont sign a benzema. We def wont sign a casillas. However we know that a cesc wants to sign for us and we know that he would improve our team by at least 10%, so every single Gooner should be behind the idea of signing him if for no other reason than the fact that we wont sign other top players regardless
Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
If we had gone in for Fabregas you'd have moaned it wasn't a priority and <insert Wenger abuse here>. We don't go in for him and apparently he's the only player we could sign.augie wrote:Chippy wrote:Why do you guys do this to yourselves. Every transfer window is the same. I hope that we don't sign Casillas. I have watched him flap on crosses a lot and he would scare the life out of me.augie wrote:Chippy wrote:Why do you guys do this to yourselves. That being said, I largely agree with this - I think with Wenger at the helm, we can only be assured of leaving it late to save on wages and see if we qualify for the CL. By then, all of the good players are gone and the squads are settled.
We do it every year, so I can't see how anything will be done differently this time around.
There isn't a point in getting wound up by every transfer story. However, there probably is a point in getting wound up watching our rivals strengthen while we sit on our hands again.

No I wouldn't have had - I actually agree that signing cesc isn't a priority but I am continuing to argue that he would be an instant upgrade on what we have and isn't that the target in every transfer window......improving the team should always be the aim. If we buy cesc then we make room for him by selling some of the others and if that includes ozil then so be it (although he wouldn't be my first choice to go)
