The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He was utter shit in Manu, but would you take him now for that price if that's possible?

Thing is Ed, he was good at Everton - and not afraid to get physical - which is what we lack - at manure he was shyte - I think that was to do with how he was used/played....also let's be honest all the manure team/players were all shyte last season

He could (maybe) do a job for us! ?

Because people put "he isn't coming" and some smiley flags waving a scarf it is considered funny. It may have been the first time but it's been going on for months.

It is part in jest and part serious cos, lets fact it, most transfer rumours around our club do turn out to be pure bullshit anyway. Seriously though lads, if comments like that piss you off then you need to learn to chill out - there is enough turmoil supporting AFC nowadays without getting bent out of shape over stuff like this, and for most of us it brings some fun to a stressful time for us 8)
Oh don't get me wrong, I agree that pretty much every name isn't coming ( the amount of pages on this thread prove that )
and it was funny at first. I'm just getting a bit bored with it every time I come on here whilst I should be working.

Reading the same thing every post is nearly making me do more work :banghead:
I can guarantee that more of that is coming

That's just what City are paying Porto. If that included the players contract then you'd have a point.

City apparently have the highest wage bill in world SPORT. It's unlikely we'd be able to match or better anything they offer.

I don't accept that he was good at Everton. He'd have a two or three game spell where he scored a few goals and demonstrated his strength and MotD would cream themselves, but then he'd be anonymous for the next dozen games.

Not fast enough, or a good enough finisher to play upfront. No energy and not a good enough passer tp play in midfield. I didn't want him before and I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole now.

I would be seriously sh*ttng it of I was a Villa fan, Owner's on the way out, no more money being spent and now they are buying knackers yard candidates like Senderos and Joe Cole(hasn't he retired yet).

To top ot all the decent young players they do have that aren't poached this summer, are going to have Roy Keane shouting obscenities to them about how sh*t they are on the training ground.

This might be the season that one of the mainstays since 1992 falls out of the premier league.

No, because Manure showed his limitations at any club that's above mid-table

Unless you believe the story that Wonga changed his mind AFTER the medical and deal had been agreed initially.......he is infamous for changing his mind in deals, there have been a few stories about it over the years.
When we palyed Napoli, Higuain said they never actually bid for him and he never spoke to anyone at the club. Most of it was paper/Radio talk.

3 seasons ago Talkh*te said we were speaking to Joey Barton :banghead:

It's like someone with tremors holding a gattling gun, there'd be no decent aim but with that much spraying you will hit something. Team A needs a type of player, link him to any and everyone of this type of player till you finally strike gold and then you can say it's an exclusive. :banghead:

Fuck me - Fellaini ???!!!

Seriously, a one paced kicker whose second touch is a tackle. He was already shit in United's pedestrian midfield - I can really see him fitting in with Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil etc. Do we need a physical players - yes? Does that mean sign someone with no mobility and unable to trap a bag of cement - no !

Not one for conspiracy theories but WTF is going on with the prices for players this summer.

Lallana/Shaw combined £55million WTF
David Luiz £50million WTf'ing F
Rakitic £16million
Fernando £16million

At this rate, Falcao will be off to Barca for a bag of beans and we'll mug Manure for £20million for Tommy V.

Anyway lunchtime now so I'm off outside to admire lowcut tops and short dresses...mmm yum :-P

Fellaini? Never. Vastly over-rated based on that one great season with Everton. Big fish in a small pond syndrome. Every season the PL throws up a player that has a belter and gets spoken of as a future national captain and taget for the big clubs etc etc but then that player usually reverts to bog average the following season, or worse if they do step up to a bigger better club. Anyone remember Charlie Adam?

If he wants Remy there is no reason to wait, seems he is dithering which is a sign that he dont know who he wants.

Come Aug 31st all the targets will cost more if they have decent World Cups but it wouldnt surprise me if that is part of the master plan.
