The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Breakfast meeting with arguably the most famous football agent there is. Report later

I'm getting seriously good vibes about Benzema. Usual merry go round but next week will be key.

All transfer activity will be concluded early this summer - prior to the World Cup

Brilliant. Just when I had given up all hope.

WENGER OUT
What's worse is that its clearly @OpinionDan who used to tweet news he "received" from "Giles" (a name he got his followers to give his "source") and now he gave his alter-ego a twitter.

But its all real in pretend land :barscarf:

He is going to the WC on a 'Scouting mission' only problem with that is so is everyone else.

He needed to get his targets wrapped up before not after when the prices rise or richer clubs go for them.

Since Vela is the one who refused to play for them despite being practically begged by their FA, the joke's on you fella.

sorry i dont stalk the bloke as i dont have a hardon for him

if they wanted him that badly he would be there,

you will be the complete opposite as ever when he turns out shit again whilst you are probably one of those morons slagging of cesc.

Fabregas chose to leave and chose to go there over other offers. So all the crap people were saying that only Chelsea bid for him looks silly now.

Good luck to him. Be interesting to see what his response is to when the first journo reminds him of his self professed hate for Chelsea and dislike for Maureen.

At least this saga didn't take too long and it might teach one or two about the folly of player worship.

Our policy hasn't changed when it comes to the transfer window so why are some on here acting like some new phenomenon has occurred this summer. We haven't changed anyone at the top yet you all expect something different. That sounds like that Einstein insanity definition again.
No Cesc for us please we are gooners.

Wonder if he'll make a tw** of himself by kissing his badge. Hopefully he doesn't get booed.

Loved the daily hatemail saying he left in 2011 but won his 3 international trophies after he left us. By my calculations that means we've had 2euro championships and one world cup in just 3 years

how do you know he had otehr offers? media reports suggest chelsea had a free run at him.

Read his Facebook message on the previous page. Clearly implied he had more than just Chelsea.

I imagine other clubs wanted him but probably not considered to be on the same level as chelsea.

United had one sh*t season, a bigger club than the chavs,Shitty the pre-eminent force in England 2 titles in 3 years, Begiristain wanted him, it's on record they said so and he fits their home grown needs. Dortmund have won more than the chavs in the last 3yrs.

Heck even Pep might consider him as he isn't too keen on Martinez and he is Fabregas mentor.
Neither you nor I know if these clubs did or didn't bid for him but they are the few that can afford his wages.

Another thing, he would be perfect for Real with one or two players leaving there. Are you honestly going to say they without a doubt they didn't consider him.

But then you are probably right, he wouldn't dare go to a club hated by the club he loves now would he :rubchin:

I can't really be bothered to keep arguing over a player that belongs to a 2nd club, signing for a 3rd club. But feel free to continue the gnashing and wailing. When it's not boring some of the stuff people on here are coming out with is f**king hilarious

realistically no other clubs in spain could get him. none bar us or chavs here. cant imagine dortmund being able to afford him or bayern wanting him, or juve or psg. maybe one of the washed up italian sides, but they are mostly skint.

possibly monaco, but who wante to play in front of 12 fans every match, and no doubt offers from russia but who the hell wants to go over there.

the media generally have an idea and there were few mentions of serious interest in him from anyone bar the chavs...the player himself is hardly going to say to his new clubs fans, i only came as i had no other options!

dont be so naive.
