World Cup 2014 Squads and Games

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Pearce used to join in with the "good old Arsenal" songs on England coach trips according to Tony Adams, to wind up the Man U boys in the squad !!

Don't think he is a good enough manager, as his England under 21 spell shows.

Really enjoyed that :D

Pity out 2 former captains had to make an appearance, taking the shine off a remarkable game of football, but there you go.

Casillas was ropey. Anyone still want him at Arsenal?

It's funny that people defend him because he hasn't played that much, but maybe he isn't playing much because he is playing like he did tonight. Maybe he was fouled on the goal, but he still wasn't going to get a touch on it. Other than that, there was a long shot from RVP which he misjudged and got lucky that it hit his legs and then his Baptista-like touch. Unfortunately, for him, his second touch wasn't a tackle.

Their passing model is all but dead, pace and power is going to dominate now, Wenger needs to go back to this style too.

Was lovely seeing Spain humbled.

Yes please - any football fan that has anything about them at all, wouldn't want to buy a player based on 1 game and nor would they want to write a player off based on 1 game

It's ironic that any club with intentions of trying to buy him this summer, will have received a huge boost tonight - casillas is no fool and he will know that a lack of game time is affecting his sharpness, and will maybe push him into leaving Madrid for gametime cos otherwise I don't think that he would leave

In fairness, I read on here the other day from one poster that Casillas is dodgy at crosses and likened it to Flappy. This person got shot down, but tonight Casillas WAS dodgy on crosses and had a game that Flappy would be proud of!

So, perhaps it isn't a one game judgement and Casillas wasn't having a one in a million bad game.

Personally, I don't watch enough of Spain/Real Madrid to know if Casillas is dodgy these days or not, but tonight he was awful.

Casillas was poor last night but the one that he "flapped" at, was the one where he was clearly fouled by our ex captain - I watched the analysis on 3 different tv stations last night and every single one of them agreed that rvp had fouled him for that goal so blaming him there is very harsh imo
