The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The only one who might be leaving is Vermaelen.

Sanchez would fit in any formation we play. We can go 4-1-2-1-2 diamond formation and have him and Feo in front of Özil.

----------Özil----------
Sanchez-----Walcott

Or 4-3-3 with him and Feo either side of Giroud

---------------------Özil---------------------
Walcott-----------Giroud----------Sanchez

Or even upfront on his own.

Can't believe some think he may not fit in here. He's taylor made for our system. Extremely versatile forward.

The thought of him running off Özil is mouthwatering. Though I bet we'll fuck it up by underbidding and dithering, as always.

But he is incapable of playing the lone striker (instead of giroud) in the same way that wally isn't suited to the role either - the English league is simply too physical to play either as the lone striker and both would work far better playing off a main striker. I will agree that sanchez is tailer made for our system as it currently stands, but didn't you say the other day that we are meant to be reverting to 2 up front next season ? :?

VG won't get united into the top four unless they invest in a top top striker. rooney was pants at the world cup and RVP will get injured again.
WTF? Why? I think he'd rather his hubcaps remained in the wheels of his car myself.

Yes I did say that and I stand by it.

Should the need arise Sanchez can still play up top on his own I reckon and will thrive there, similarily to Tevez at City.

Why? If he joins Liverpool it would in exchange of Suarez who single handedly got them 2nd. We won the FA cup, have a 60k stadium and are in London. Oh and we can pay more.

And why on earth would a world class footballer who happens to be Chilean, would choose to live in a shit hole called Liverpool over Landan?

I think Debuchy is decent but nothing special. A safe pair of hands for a few years.

Did anybody see the USA match? Yedlin the RB is only 20 has an amazing engine, can dribble, cross and seemed to tackle Ok. I'm sure he'd be cheap, so AW might be interested as well.

Sanchez would be amazing wherever we'd play him.

That means he'll fit right in with our manager then doesn't it. :D

Yeah it'd cost him a feckin' fortune in hubcaps if he lived anywhere near that rats nest.

based on your formations, Vermaelen will not be only one leaving. Podolski?

So be it. Podolski doesn't fit into our system.
