Victims set to sign some nobody from Benfica called Markovic. That's him, Lallana, Lambert, Can, Origi and I'm hearing Bertrand signed so far for the Suarez money. It's like deja vu from last summer with Spurs and Bale and we're the beneficiaries from both deals.

Good to see the mousers haven't learned from Spurs' shambolic transfer strategy last summer.

41m euros is the fee, which equates to about 32m pounds

Fair fucks to Wenger and Ivan if this happens. One hell of a signing.

Fair fcuks to them ?? What for ? :? Even if we sign sanchez, all it will prove is that we are able to buy a big player when their present clubs wants to sell them  Fair fcuks to them would be warranted if they went out and signed reus, Martinez or some top player that is not being hawked around Europe - in other words make a top signing that doesn't fall into their lap
That is not me saying that I don't want sanchez or anything like that, and I'm not saying that he wouldn't be a good signing but it's not like we are putting in overtime trying to get a player that isn't for sale

Well no, Liverpool would have him and it seems so would Juventus so although it may pain you to admit it, if they get this over the line it is fair fucks indeed.

You're an impossible one to please aren't you Augs? :D

It doesn't matter what the circumstances behind his availability were, the fact is Alexis Sanchez is a world class forward that plenty of top clubs have pursued and we're set to beat them all to him. You've to give kudos to the fact they managed to convince him to join us. It's not easy luring players of that calibre.

Oh and btw, as much as he's criticized (rightly so), Wenger is a massive pull. Players want to play for him.

But the same rumours claiming that we have him are the ones that are saying that he wants to live in London and not Liverpool so straight away that gives us a huge advantage no ? As somebody else said earlier, what self respecting quality player would want to play in serie a when everybody knows that it is no better than a second grade league nowadays ?

I'll get excited about Sanchez once it's announced on Pravda as it smacks of Higuain mk2.

We still desperately need another 'keeper though.

What a load of sh*t.

Who cares what the circumstances are when we land a world class player ? All that matters is we obtain top calibre talent.

Is Chelsea's signing of Fabrgeas void because Barca wanted him out?

You're essentially saying you won't give Wenger credit unless he goes out and secures a coup for someone like Messi, Ronaldo, Bale, Aguero, Reus, etc. - basically players who are happy at their club and are therefore unattainable.

If we purchase top talent that's fallen into our lap or someone who's taken us months to prise away from a club, what difference does it make if the end result is the same?

A world class player is a world class player, regardless of the manner of their transfer.

I suppose you'd be happier if we passed up on Sanchez and let him go to Liverpool (because it's too easy,), and spent the whole summer trying woo Di Maria.

True and Kun Aguero is 5'8", David Villa was 5'9". The thing about Kun and Tevez is they are strongly built. Villa was just an excellent striker.

Haha Valbuena looks tiny, maybe he lied on the official docs, agreed he doesn't even look 5'6" lol.

1989, Markovic is an excellent young player, watched him in the Europa when they played the scum and he looked really good. He missed either the final or the semi because of suspension and they really missed him. So he isn't a nobody.

Foreign media say it's a done deal whilst a lot of our own say the dippers still have a chance. I'm still sceptical and believe the only way this'll happen is if Manure fail to cough for Vidal as I can see Juve swapping one Chilean for another.

Lots of misguided optimism on twitter and some on here. Hope you aren't disappointed but you probably will be.

Just to clear up any confusion anyone is having.......
