41m euros is the fee, which equates to about 32m pounds

Fair fucks to Wenger and Ivan if this happens. One hell of a signing.
Fair fcuks to them ?? What for ?Even if we sign sanchez, all it will prove is that we are able to buy a big player when their present clubs wants to sell them
Fair fcuks to them would be warranted if they went out and signed reus, Martinez or some top player that is not being hawked around Europe - in other words make a top signing that doesn't fall into their lap
That is not me saying that I don't want sanchez or anything like that, and I'm not saying that he wouldn't be a good signing but it's not like we are putting in overtime trying to get a player that isn't for sale
Well no, Liverpool would have him and it seems so would Juventus so although it may pain you to admit it, if they get this over the line it is fair fucks indeed.
But the same rumours claiming that we have him are the ones that are saying that he wants to live in London and not Liverpool so straight away that gives us a huge advantage no ? As somebody else said earlier, what self respecting quality player would want to play in serie a when everybody knows that it is no better than a second grade league nowadays ?
Unfortunately money talks on the Liverpool front, if they threw 250k a week at him Im sure he would grow to love the north, I take your point about Italy but he's experienced it before and may have been comfortable there, you just dont know and in Italy Juventus are it at the mo.
I am also very critical of the clubs transfer activities over the years but if this comes of it really is time to cut them some slack and give credit where its due and even more so if its done out of the usual loop of waiting for the qualifier to be out of the way.
Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
It would be wise of une Chenille to continue exploring possibility of signing a cf in the likes of Jackson or even Mandzukic. Or worse case a goalscoring winger like Griezmann. My reason is that if the news on neymar from the medical staff in brazil is not favourable, then Barca will only be left with Messi n Pedro as fwds. selling Sanchez with an injured neymar may not make sense. Even if they buy Suarez his ban will rule him out of start if season n some cl games. Sticky on us!
Peace

Re: SUMMER 2014 TRANSFER THREAD
Liverpool taking the "throw enough shit and some of it will stick" approach. Best case scenario is two or three come off and the other few are a waste of money. If the big money signings like Lallana and that kid from Benfica don't cut it then they'll be in huge trouble and unrealistically expect the other kids to be effective squad players despite little game time and relatively little experience, like Spurs did with Chadli as one example.
They will need a bigger squad to cope with PL but depth is not much use unless its strength in depth, I'm not seeing a hell of a lot of balance in that squad. I also can't see Sturridge reproducing his sort of form from this season especially without Suarez. Although I did spend most of this season mugging them off and declaring they were going to drop away because they're shite so what do I know.

Who cares what the circumstances are when we land a world class player ? All that matters is we obtain top calibre talent.
Is Chelsea's signing of Fabrgeas void because Barca wanted him out?
You're essentially saying you won't give Wenger credit unless he goes out and secures a coup for someone like Messi, Ronaldo, Bale, Aguero, Reus, etc. - basically players who are happy at their club and are therefore unattainable.
If we purchase top talent that's fallen into our lap or someone who's taken us months to prise away from a club, what difference does it make if the end result is the same?
A world class player is a world class player, regardless of the manner of their transfer.
I suppose you'd be happier if we passed up on Sanchez and let him go to Liverpool (because it's too easy,), and spent the whole summer trying woo Di Maria.
Try reading my post (and my 2nd post on the matter) properly before you write it off "as a load of shit" - my post had at no time dismissed the importance of signing sanchez and I never said that he wasnt a quality player but the part I was referring to was the "fair fcuks to wenker and smarmy ivan". For me that kind of comment gives undeserved credit to 2 useless w*nkers for signing a player that is being hawked around europe to every club that can afford him and suggests that they had to put in major work persuading barca to sell and persuading sanchez to come to us and we all know that is not the case.
Let me also add that the chavs purchase of cesc required even less work that our potential purchase of sanchez - barca wanted cesc out, we didnt want him and that left only the chavs interested in buying him so it's hardly transfer of the year material is it ?
Anyway you carry on calling my post (or anybody else's post for that matter) a load of shit if it makes you feel more authotitative on here

@Augie
^ Apologies, didn't intend to be offensive and I'm aware that you acknowledged Sanchez is a great player/would be a good signing.
Your post was not sh*t (I actually agree with most of it), I just don't agree with the notion that Wenger shouldn't get any credit for signing a world class player unless he doggedly pursues them. As I said before, as long as the player is top quality it shouldn't matter how they were acquired.
The transfer process is irrelevant, the end product is the only thing that counts.

It's been an amazing transfer window mate. I won't tell you who we've signed as don't want to ruin the surprise for the first game of the season for you...enjoy the rest of the cricket season.LeftfootlegendGooner wrote:I've not watched much of the World Cup (it's cricket season ffs) and I don't buy newspapers so have we bought anyone?
