As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Saying we should get rid is insane. Madrid didn't want to sell him, they just wanted Bale and thought Isco could do the same job.
In Madrid, because of the talent around him, he was able to flit in and out of games and still look world class - is that enough for a man of his ability/talent ? A player of his quality should be dominating games instead of being the cherry on top of the icing on top of the cake

He hasn't been brilliant but no one has had to be.
Just think it's so easy to keep having a go at him.
Anyway back to Brazil's demise, it's 7
The man (ozil) is held to higher standards than most other players and rightly so - he has a talent that is amongst the top 10 in world football but sadly he doesn't show it enough and looks lazy most of the time. Having the talent isn't enough and he just seem like he cares and that is a cardinal sin in my book
I actually think Maureen was right, he is a confidence player who shrinks easily, there are a lot of players like that. How they are handled determines how they play for you. He also has a languid style(always has) which comes off as lazy.
He actually had a good game but his finishing leaves a lot to be desired. But he has never been known for his goal scoring. Even when he was sh*t with us he was still creating goal scoring chances but had to contend with his star striker being Giroud. His dip with us also coincided with the loss of Rambo.
I am not making excuses for him but I cannot believe the creator of the most chances for goal scorers in Europe for 2 seasons in a row has suddenly become a bad player.
ozil had a decent game, great link up play, superb runs and cut up the brazilian defence. it is a shame that some of our own supporters have an agenda against him, he was top scorer in qualifying ffs

Quite weird. We clamor for us to spend big money on proven talent and then after a single decent bedding in season, winning first trophy in 9 years, want to get rid!
