As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Shaw and Herrera are good players but don't go anywhere close to addressing Manure's problems, the Victims have a massive hole to fill, Citeh don't look any better than last year. The Chavs have done well and do look stronger than last year.
I'm sure there's more to come from all the teams, but it does look like, for once, we'll be up there competing. I hope AW can build on the positive vibes around the club to bring another top name in.
Agreed - if ManUre don't sign 2 top class centre halves they are fucked. Imagine Jones and Smalling, or Evans?
The funniest bit is the Mickeys - first season of CL football in years and they will now do a Spurs and spunk 80m on lower class replacements
Things are starting to take shape now, interesting to see how things come together at the various sides. Both very good players but I wonder whether signing Fabregas and Costa will signal a departure from Chelsea's 'style' last season. United have just bitten the bullet and spend huge sums on two players who are not going to make much of a difference at all in the short-term, let's hope we've got more of van Gaal's tactical genius to look forward to because I personally can't wait to see him talking up how great they were and how clever he was after 240 goalless minutes. City haven't really changed at all but the big thing for them is keeping Toure and finding some sort of consistency from the off. No chance Liverpool are going to be able to play that system to the same effect without Suarez - his all-round contribution was astounding. Also no indications they have resolved their defence issues, if they have a poor start (and with City and Scum away in August) I think they could find themselves adrift fairly quickly.
Regarding the Ospina rumours I just can't see Wenger signing somebody to genuinely compete with Szczesny. The loan of Viviano last season sent out a clear message that he has settled on Szczesny as his number 1 - he actually had a very good season last year (especially compared to the shoddy 18 months before) so I can't see him reversing on this now.

Not sure how reliable Collymore but seeing as he's a former Liverpool player I would say he has no reason to lie about this.

If this is true Then a truly challenging goal keeper to the ego and let's see
can we please keep our feet on the ground,we still have a tactically inept manager, its all starting to sound like the spuds forums from this time last year 'we are gonna win the league,we are in with a great chance' its a bit embarrassing.everybody seems to have forgotten the dry bummings at anfield, the bridge etc etc, sanchez wont stop that happening on his own

Couldn't agree more - we have made 1 outstanding signing and people seem to think that he alone will make us genuine title challengers He's a quality player lads but he is not superman so don't expect him to correct all the shortcomings of last season, plus we could sign messi, neuer, hummels and yaya toure but playing under the same tactically challenged manager will make the signings irrelevent
We finished 7 points behind the winners last year with those dry bummings and the limitations upfront so it is not unrealistic to think that only one quality signing (in that area) will help to make things closer, we also spent the most days out of any of the top 4 at the top of the league so while it may not fit into your pre mediated agenda or opinion the fact is that the team were not that far off, dry bummings and all but lets not let the facts stand in the way of a good strong opinion.
Its been a good week to be an Arsenal supporter, some should try to enjoy it for once instead of clinging on to the desire to win the battle of opinions because right now things are looking a lot rosier in the garden at the start of July.

yes 7 points behind with a lot of thrashings along the way,we are and have been stuck in a middle ground for years where we aren't good enough to win the league but are better hands down than the also rans, maybe Chavski will only beat us 5-0 at the bridge this season and Liverpool by just 3,sorry to be a killjoy but I just don't want to get carried away,9 years of hurt leaves a huge scar but im with you on the fact that this week is a good week to be a gooner and yes it has put a huge smile on my face

3 thrashings, keep it in perspective, all unacceptable but its not like we were getting smashed every week and City smashed most up there.
