The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Call me crazy, but I'd prefer Schneiderlin over Khedira.

Problem is Bayern will not sell and if Pep tries to,it will probably be the beginning of the end of his tenure at Bayern.

Leverkusen are being f**king arsey over Bender, they are not poor so they will only sell for "you are offering how much" type of price. AW will not do that.

The only other options are Javi Martinez(gettable as he isn't settled in Bavaria),Matuidi(bit like Khedira) or Schneiderlin.

Of those names if we could I like Martinez
and don't mind Schneiderlin.

Khedira isn't that bad at that position he just needs to be disciplined. He can't be too bad at it as he was Maureen's first choice in that position at Real.

As I said already, I would be very happy with either Martinez or schweinstiger - the German is an absolute beast and would be a real leader for us, but Martinez is an excellent player at such a young age and would come to us desperate to prove a point to bayern (never a bad thing) 8)

the Khedira deal could be imminent

his odds on joining Arsenal have now been slashed to 1/7

Am beginning to feel scoused (ie victimised) on here lately - fcukers that weren't even on this forum in my early days, are having a pop at my paragraph issues back then :(
It kind of creeps in now from time to time mate- just a gentle joke

  What were the sentences like in your early days

I meant to add a smiley to end of my post as I knew that you were only joking so no worries there 8)

As for the "sentence" I received, let me just say that it was harsh - of course back in the day we had a much better team of mods but since they dropped the height requirement and also allowed flip floppers to get promoted, the whole thing has gone down the shitter :(

Like others, I'd prefer Martinez, but but Khedira is still a huge upgrade on Arteta / Flamini.
Not a Matic, de Jong type strong stopper but intelligent, skilful and very experienced. I too would be tempted to try Schneiderlin, but signing Khedira would bring another world star to the Grove and the positivity surrounding the club would grow still further, I just hope the cost won't stop us strengthening where we need to.

£150k per week, if true, would be outrageous

Ozil has suffered because of some of the shit he has had to play with... but don't let that cloud your judgement.

I suppose we could always sign Khedira to replace 20 a day Wilshere... instead of a box to box smoker we could have a box to box midfielder.

Shit he played with? The German WC winning team?

You know full well what I mean... his WC stats were fine unless you believe the bullshit the media try and feed us. :)
