V Pleased that Germany won, they as often came good at the end- they were certainly on the ropes V Algeria at times.
Been a great WCup- Our 3 must be elated, FA now World cups in a couple of months.
Hope they bring and continue to foster the winning mentality on to the rest of the team.

This world cup has been good for me mentally. I no longer pine for Higuain, turns out he's a bit poo

Golden ball award for Messi
what a joke, one good goal against Iran FFS, wouldn't have even had him in my best 11 for the tournament. A sponsorship driven decision if ever there was one.

I'd suggest it was those who were 'impressed' by his fee and prior reputation rather than his actual performances on the pitch that have been the ones 'jizzing' for the past 10 months - and prematurely at that!!T.S wrote:To the people questioning Özil's price tag and/or quality;
Back when we were all creaming ourselves over his signing, what did you think we were getting when we signed him? I thought we were signing an incredibly gifted midfield player who is extremely tidy on the ball, wastes possession very rarely and sees passes that hardly anyone else does (cue the big-eye jokes).
Now, although his work-rate has come under question, and I won't deny that his first season was by no means sensational, I can still see that he is a quality, quality footballer - and I think he showed it today in the final with some of his contributions.
So, did some of you think we were buying a marauding winger? Or did you think we were buying a 30 goal a season striker? Or were you just jizzing over the transfer fee?

I thought that we were signing a player capable of dictating the play - cesc was a gifted player for us and was the one who drove us forward at times and other occasions slowed our game down when needed. He was THE fundamental player in the team 4 years ago - given ozil's undoubted class, I thought that we would again be signing a player who would take a game by the scruff of the neck and dictate the pace of the game. I have never expected him to go past players at will but nor did I expect him to be as peripheral to our gameplan - ie he is, in my opinion at least, the icing on the top of the cake rather than a crucial ingredient which you build your team around. When he was at Madrid I complained that he wasn't utilised enough and was continually subbed but it appears that they knew what they were doing - playing alongside other great players suited him cos he was only needed to provide flashes of brilliance here and there but with our team he is expected to have a more key role in the team and I just don't think that he is capable of being that guy

Argentina have put in an appeal to FIFA stating that on the grounds the trophy was in Brazil and Argentina was therefore closer to it than Germany then it should rightfully be theirs.
