Let's sell anyone that isn't in our starting eleven, brilliant.
Read the post again I said IF we sold him which is not the same as we should sell him.

Ever since he had the bad ankle injury he's looked as if he plays in constant pain. The going to ground annoys me but he wasn't like that. A couple of times last season I watched him wince after doing simple things like jumping over the keeper or landing after jumping for a high ball, and I'm convinced that ankle problem still hasn't cleared
Hopefully we'll see him return to full fitness and if our midfield stays well stocked we'd do to rest him until he's fully healed

Is Jack Wilshere: Over-Rated an awful thread name? Seems like a very reasonable topic of debate and tbh whilst Sid is, as usual, at the extreme end of the spectrum it seems to be a sentiment shared by many if not most posters on here.

If memory serves, the thread was changed from "....most overrated player in English football", which was a bit silly.

But if that was the case then why didn't he skip the World Cup ? Our club is paying him big wages and if he is in pain/discomfort when playing, then he must know that needs to completely rest it for a month or two ? I don't see why we should rest him and alter our plans, so that he can fcuk off to play in brazil for a team that was responsible for the last injury he suffered Tbh I have the same viewpoint on the ox - he wasn't fit to play the cup final and clearly wasn't fit during his time in brazil so why the fcuk was he not at home with his feet up watching the tv ? Why the fcuk did our club and medical staff not intervene and tell that engerland fa that he is our asset and we ain't going to allow then fcuk about with his future ?
The wilshere not fit excuse is wearing a bit thin now tbh - the injury that fcuked up his ankle was a good while ago now and if he still aint recovered from it, then you wonder if we are going to be going down the diaby route with him and we will see him missing big chunks of every season I like jack and really, really hope he makes it with us but his is at last chance saloon as far as I am concerned

I don't think we can realistically expect players to rule themselves out of the World Cup if they feel fit enough to last the tournament. The best we can do is give them long-term physio/medical advice - i.e. that it will inevitably cause fatigue and injuries throughout next season - and hope that it gives them food for thought but even then it's a forlorn hope and I don't think we can really be critical of them for wanting to go to the WC.
On the other hand it does piss me off when I see Wenger saying about how hard he was trying to get these players ready for the WC. He shouldn't give a flying fuck and although he only has limited control over it we have been fucked over by players coming back injured from internationals (especially friendlies) before.
