ATM I think a CB is a bigger priority than even DMC. We were somewhat fortunate with injuries in that dept last season, especially with only the 3 cbs. Also I am not convinced with Merty, as he is too slow and forces us to play deep which is a nice change to the suicidal defending of years past but we need.

I would go for Lovren. He has settled in the prem and looks more than decent.

I'd like us to look at John Stones. None of our 3 CBs are younger than 28.

Just watched this interview (on Pravda) with Theo - and when he was asked about the signing of Sanchez...he spoke about his skills, youth (same age as Theo) and pace....and then said something along the lines of 'with him on one flank and me on the other, teams are not going to like playing against Arsenal next season'...I wonder if he knows what position wenger is planning to play Sanchez then?

I called it.

Sanchez will play on the left with Theo on the right. Wenger will sign a real CF.

If only Theo was half the player HE thinks he is & could stay fit we may not need to buy another forward. Chris Waddell's comment years ago about Theo's lack of a football brain still looms large in my mind. I agreed with Waddell then & I do now. Theo's a liability. Sell him & move on.

We can't sell Theo. He is the outlet we need. He is the fastest player in the league and when he is on fire he is unstoppable
He had a great game against the spuds until he got injured. Ozil will love playing with Theo week in week out . He generally gets around 15 goals and he has many assists. To see him playing for Chelsea or Liverpool and ripping teams apart would be heartbreaking

This would be GREAT signing. We all know he is mad but a genuine world class CF with a bit of personality . What has Wenger been taking all these signings and at last spending big money.. This is going to be a fun year

Cualker for me. He looks like the real deal, young enough not to make too much of a fuss to be behind Kos and Mert and the scum sold him - even though he's miles better than Dawson.

Waddle is full of sh*t,typical half witted northern tw*t. Hansent reiterated the football brain comment at the time and last week apologised saying it was wrong as the player has improved.

Noticed you seem to have a hard on for getting rid of Walcott. He doesn't have a trick but has an incredible amount of pace and a very good eye for goal and his cut backs to the oppos penalty area are good. To get a player like him would cost us £25-30million in today's market plus his wages.

Yaya Toure is great as a rampaging box to box CM,but he is essentially a physically imposing Rambo. I watched him a lot last season just to see his movement and for the wages and transfer fee, it would be a waste of money. He is a liability defensively. If you don't believe me check out how often his loss of the ball leads to a counter attack from the opposition.

One of our goals in the 6-3 was directly as a result of him losing the ball,I think it was to Rambo.

He does it a lot. In the WC, he did it quite a few times. He only works as a DM against weaker opposition. He needs a more disciplined DM next to him.

Don't think we will get a DM and I don't think we'll let TV go. Probably do Sagna. Probably still end up with Remy when he realises that with his questionable off field behaviour no one will pay him 85k a week. We are not all as F**king stupid as twitchy.

Well said mate. Also I’m not sure it is khdira's salary demands that are the problem. I’m almost entirely sure that the £20m compensation Real Madrid are asking for is the problem. That is a huge sum for a player in the last year of his contract, especially one who is just recovering from ACL surgery. If we were to pay that sum, it would push his entire contract over £50m

I know that on paper we are covered at the left full spot but I cant help feeling that felipe luis is an absolute bargain at £15m. We have other priorities I know, but we are basing our plans on an average Spanish left full back up to a left full who is far from convincing imo, and who is frequently injured - felipe would be a big upgrade on both imo

That being said, a powerful DM is still my number 1 priority followed by a centre back, a keeper and a better centre forward than giroud

If we keep Vermaelen we won't get a centre back. Keeper? First choice keeper won't happen but a back-up we obviously need. And centre forward will be on the cheap side, so plenty of time for that

No, but until now there's no evidence for us to come to this conclusion. Of course, he's defensive minded, comfortable on the ball, etc...but other than that, we can't really say, can we? Perhaps he could (like Toure going the other way) but I guess only Arsene knows
