The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That ship has sailed so forget about it - if le cock consider that as a possibility then he would have tried it before now

We have other priorities I know, but we are basing our plans on an average Spanish left full back up to a left full who is far from convincing imo, and who is frequently injured - felipe would be a big upgrade on both imo 8)

That being said, a powerful DM is still my number 1 priority followed by a centre back, a keeper and a better centre forward than giroud
Wonder if anyone had considered Cashly as another LB for us for the next 2 seasons ? Gibbs is OK for me when playing, but Augie is spot on, he is very injury prone

I dont usually wish ill on people but he is very much an exception to the rule - there isnt enough viruses/diseases in this world that he could catch, that would render satisfactory payback for the way he shit on our club  :cussing:

Not to argue about what you said, but I would like to know what's the reason you always write in that mancs shitty blue color font? :rubchin:
The colour is teal. Not man city shitty blue. It's my favorite color and I use it on all forums. It has nothing to do with team color.

Not to argue, but if you dont like it then you can fuck off like what I will Khedira if he is sticking out on 150k per week salary.

Peace

I don't think he will sign a DM now, saw some comments earlier where Wenger was talking Jack up for the role of sitting infront of the defence and where he sees it as his natural position because he can win the ball and distribute it well.

I would not be surprised to see Wilshere play there all pre season and the first few league games before the window closes.

Never seen someone so defensive about a colour

I'm not against the principle of thinking about trying Wilshere at DM and if he doesn't find a role he suits shortly he'll be finished at Arsenal but neglecting to sign a player and chucking him in as our first choice DM would be folly.

I think Jack could do a better job at cdm than Arteta. Having said that Wenget should sign a damn proper cdm! It's a key area.

Agree as suggested previously that Caulker would be a good option at CB. Seems he's off to QPR though, fee agreed and when he has first-team football and a huge contract waved under his nose it makes it a bit harder to tempt him when he knows he'll be on the bench. Especially as QPR will happily outbid us.

There are few more odious combinations than 'Arry and QPR but he does make me laugh sometimes.

"He's got a couple of other clubs interested in him but I think he feels if he was playing with Rio, it could help him get back into the England team"

Not only will playing alongside Ferdinand bring the worst out of him as a CB based on the last two years, Redknapp has blatantly just made that up on the spot

1) You want some too? :box:

2) Agree with you here. I don't think we'll sign a specialist unless we can find someone sub-£20m, and if we don't then Jack will get the berth. *

* Until he does himself a mischief flying into a 50/50 on the half-way line.

I had a feeling this would happen. Wenger doesn't put talent on the bench he always goes into a season fingers crossed nobody gets injured.
