I can't believe the media love in for Gerrard. He was good at Liverpool when they won
the champions league and several fairly good seasons afterwards but he has been on
the decline years. And for England he only knows one way to play
hoof it up to the striker. The amount of big mistakes he makes over the season is laughable
but still the media worship him
Good riddance for England, very over rated for the last 2 years and undroppable while captain
when there were better options for Hodgson in Brazil.
Bad choice for England captain in the first place. The only thing is now who replaces Gerrard as captain. There
is speculation of Shrek, jesus, do we really want to see him in every press conference and
being an ambassador for England. No I don't think so... Glad its not me making the decision
cos I dont know who would make a good England captain

It's symptomatic of England's malaise that one of their 'best ever players' has a poor first touch and mediocre ball control. Endless long diagonal passes can't make up for such weaknesses.
