The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Phil Jones - dear God :(

Jones, smalling, carrick, young, welbeck etc all highly overrated and piss poor for England and United.

i'd bet that LVG won't start any of them in more than a dozen games this year.

Its at times like this when the forum really is worse off without Red Member. With Santos available, Djourou returning from loan and rumours of a return to these shores of Alex Mong, his opinions would be most welcome :barscarf:

Didn't we match Utd bids for both Smalling and Jones to Fulham and Blackburn but got rejected by both in favour of the Mancs ?

Arsene knows :rubchin:

Agreed. Smalling is a good CB imo. Jones is just a spaz.

Transfer News: Liverpool set to sign Javier Manquillo on loan from Atletico Madrid

If indeed we were in for him why have we let this happen? What's wrong with our negotiators (other than they're wankers) ?

where the fudge is our new DM?

I want some rumours at least, then I can delude myself that we won't be starting with arteta/flamini for the new season.

independent reporting Ospina has signed.

I can see him as our Number 1, as long as he gets a fair go and we don't kill his confidence.

Chez will have to up his game, or at least i hope so.

Why do we need him? We have Debuchy and Jenko.

Yup, Shezza will have a right battle on his hands as Ossie is no mug. Surprised he agreed to join us tbh; would've thought he would want to join a club where he's guaranteed to be no 1, but I'm not complaining. 8)

Can see him starting in the Community Shield.

It felt like things were getting done when Wenger was fannying about on the beach. Now he's back the dithering has started again.
