Wilshere to anchor the midfield. Fucking hell. Has anyone checked up on sid? He must be seriously considering a spree killing right about now.
But in all seriousness Wilshere is too light, too injury-prone, and let's be honest here, too dive-prone to anchor a PL midfield.
I reckon even the dumb fuckers in the media must know this. I think they just had nothing to put on that page and thought hey fuck it let's just make something up. SOP in other words!

Generally, your best players are present in the starting lineup as they enhance everything.
What makes you think Wilshere "reinvented" (whatever that means), warrants a starting spot ahead of Ramsey who's better than Jack in virtually all facets of the game?
Yes, well I guess we disagree. I think Wilshere has the right aggression and temperament to make it as a hard tackling, ball distributing DM whereas I think Ramsey is better suited forward BUT in the proposed system there simply isn't a spot for more than one Ozil/Ramsey/Carszola.

Well well well - finally someone agrees with me......
A decision to make Jack the anchor man would be up there amongst Wenger's worst ever tactical ideas - up there with playing Bendtner wide on the left and pairing Luzhny and Stepanovs at centre half for the first of the OT maulings
Its probably the position on the field that requires the most tactical discipline and despite what people are now saying about Arteta, he provided that discipline for 2 years or so consistently......something Mong and others failed to do since There's Only One sold / released all 3 holding midfielders in 2008. Wilshere has many qualities but tactical discipline and simple use of the ball aren't two of them and I just can't see it working out.
Heaven forbid that this is TOO's way of 'not klling Wilshere' by finding him a role in an overcrowded midfield.
I suggested Wilshere could be turned into a DM in one of the other threads a few days ago. He's got aggro, can tackle, can distribute, and gets about. He needs experience, some gym work and discipline but his days going forward seem to be limited as there are just too many better options and he makes poor choices.
I reckon if Wenger gave him the trade off to make this specialist position his own through hard work and discipline he could thrive.
To be honest, in my view, for Jack - it's either reinvent himself or go to a mid table/lower team where he will get game time.
That mirror story I pray is bollox.but we all know its not...I would far prefer a bender but khedira must be leaving real, they are going to have to shed a load of good players, and he's a class act, so surely if we are not getting the true cdm, we will go for him??? As real must sell he wouldn't cost too much and the savings on the fee could offset the high wages surely. Plus all that rumours and pod shouting arsenal behind him can't have come from nowhere???
As for casillas, it does make sense to sign an older temporary competition for ches, rather than ospina, but imo casillas has been on the decline for years, and isn't worth the high wages. I thinl starting so young has done for him.
Not to mention the decline in a lot of spanish sportsmen, football included, since dr fuentes got busted...

You kind of answer your own question there, mate! The difference between Makelele and Jack is strength. You can be small and strong, even thin and strong, but Jack is just small, thin and seems quite weak. Also I wouldn't be using the quite average Makelele as an example of a midfield powerhouse!

Erm... are you mis-quoting? I DON'T agree that Wilshere has the right aggression and temperament to make it as a hard tackling, ball distributing DM.

It's not a case of that's all folks, with this bit of news, they have taken leave of their senses.
Our most injury prone, rash midfielder is going to become our anchor. Whoever came up with that penny pinching idea is a word that also rhymes with anchor.
Ffs jack whole glass body will shatter as a result of first tackle of the season, cue him rolling around in tears on the pitch while le cock rings his bony fingers and crys to the press about the big bad opposition DM who just bum holed his wee boy
Sad but so very true...Also don't forget the whole arm waving like a feckin' windmill, the constant whinging in the 4th officials ear - instead of adopting tactics and a pair of bollocks and telling the players to stay on their feet and MAN THE FUCK UP!.
Doesn't surprise me. When I heard the rumour of Khedira something seemed off, as there is no way Wenger would bench Wilshere. We always have to go in to a season with a thin squad.
Not AFC related I know, but can anyone explain to me what logic went through vorm's head when he decided to sign for the scum - forgetting about how big of a shithole it is for a minute, but why would he go to be a back up to lloris ? He is in the dutch squad and is gonna piss that away to sit on their bench ? Madness

I had the same conversation with someone about that last night. Fuck knows what Spurs have told him but you'd think he's clever enough to see that Lloris isn't going anywhere - he just signed a new contract as well. He'll be unhappy before you know it and probably end up at a club worse than Swansea.
