Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Not only does AW need to spend £ properly on Quality players - he also needs to bring in some of the ex-Arsenal legends to coach the different areas of the team...
TA - & Bouldy could sort the defence within a month or so
Bergkamp, Pires and Petit (PV4 not available) - Mid-field
TH14 and Wrighty the strikers
Seaman - the G.keepers...
SORRRTTTED!
But of course that would involve AW - allowing his oversized ego to take a few steps back...who knows he might even learn something

You can't have it both ways, you can't gripe about the players jetting off around the world playing pre season matches and attending sponsor's junkets while on the other hand gladly accepting mega bucks from those said sponsors. It's just part and parcel of the modern day, corporate football world.

but it has to make sense from a football perspective, otherwise they should not accept the deal terms.rodders999 wrote:You can't have it both ways, you can't gripe about the players jetting off around the world playing pre season matches and attending sponsor's junkets while on the other hand gladly accepting mega bucks from those said sponsors. i have no issue with month long training camps overseas, in fact its probably preferable to get the players focused but several short long haul trips can't be good for prep.
btw anyone else notice that the whole top five are in the US this week - us, pool, manyoo, city and the chavs....

America the new (financial) frontier waiting to be pillaged and raped by all the kit & merchandising companies and prem clubs...and the home of one wanky wig wearing owner of 'Our Beloved Arsenal'.

I reckon that within 5 years we will be playing at least one of our PL games in the US each season.
Already American football has one match at Wembley each season - we are the team surely the most likely to do this

Make the League Cup international i say. Its a poor mans FA cup and as for an added incentive, the winner gets 3 points for the premier league.

It's not often the suits don't get their way but they certainly got their arses kicked when they brought up that idea of game 39. The thought of a league fixture being played outside England (or Wales!) just doesn't sit right with me. I hope I'm long in the ground before we see that day. Surely our beautiful game has some fucking morsel of a soul left?

We should make it international in the sense that Premier League teams don't have to enter it. Regardless of whether or not you advocate a winter break (I know not many do in this country), scrapping a competition which sees most PL sides giving their ressies/kids a run-out for a few rounds even if it means a likely exit will alleviate fixture congestion in the second half of the season.spendsum4uckingmoney wrote:Make the League Cup international i say. It's just van Gaal being his dickhead arrogant self by pretending he's been dealt a shit hand and stacking up the excuses in advance. Similar to when Allardyce said West Ham had a two-year plan to get promoted again a few years ago and Redknapp said it would be really difficult for QPR to come straight back up. All just trying to lower expectations to relatively augment any achievements.rodders999 wrote:You can't have it both ways, you can't gripe about the players jetting off around the world playing pre season matches and attending sponsor's junkets while on the other hand gladly accepting mega bucks from those said sponsors. I honestly fucking hate van Gaal. Don't get me wrong I'm not Ferguson's #1 fan but I couldn't imagine suffering through a few decades of this wanker. After Valencia dives to earn United a last-minute penalty to beat Burnley 1-0 at Old Trafford expect to hear van Gaal saying how proud he is because he told Wayne Rooney in pre-season to practice penalties

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Wenger has pretty much re-hashed Van Gaal's moan about touring, travel, preperation for the new season etc. Comrades in arms on this one. Why am I thinking the world cup will be used as an excuse for our failings right up until next May?
