Anyone managed to book train tickets yet which does not include engineering works and buses? Really fancy this trip but don't want to be p*****g about.

Initially, tried a couple of different routes, one out of St Pancras and the 2nd from Liverpool St via Cambridge.

Both ways included buses.

So i gave up

Even with the bus it is better to go on East Midlands from St Pancras. However if you are pathologically averse to using a bus then there are a few good connections via Nuneaton as someone above has said. Sorry can't come up with anything better. :(
