As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.
IF we get a DM thats any sort of decency then Im off to get my flip flops for the start of the season faster than 1989 quotes or makes a twitter rumour
For the first time for years am feeling that we have a better team than the year before, shedding more deadwood, moving some older players on and getting in improvements on the way.
Must be something to do with wearing a loomband thingy my niece made for me its pink yellow and orange and needs rose tinted specs to see into 31 year old rose gardens
He deserves credit for the business he's done so far.
Alexis, Debuchy, Ospina and Chambers is quality. We've strengthened significantly without losing any of our top players. We have slated him every summer for his inactivity and dithering but this time around he's come through for us so full marks to him so far. I'm waiting for a DM and then I will truly feel we're ready to do some damage this season.

.....Good try, except that's not what he said, is it? He was commenting on the fact players are given a 4 week holiday after a world cup, and at the same time clubs are expected to begin their preparation for the new season. There is no need whatsoever to connect that to Wengers media work etc.
But of course, as expected, you'll use any loose connection to find an excuse to have a go at Wenger. You won't, but you'll need to do better than that Rodders.
erm... who gives them the 4 weeks off?
I'm not saying they should be rushed straight back into pre-season as that would only lead to injury or early fatigue but 4 weeks for me is a bit excessive. And the fact Arsene gives them the 4 weeks means he should really not whine about it.
I wonder if the other so called Big Clubs will be whining (and excuse making) because they had key players at the world cup?

It's not the manager or clubs decision. Wenger said himself that it's compulsory from FIFA to give players 4 weeks holiday. However, they have the option to return earlier should they want to - like Wilshire.

Hands up - did not know that tbh. Fair enough. It's a shit rule. But I'd still say it affects us no more (and probably less) than the other Big Clubs.
Kiwomya is that an actual rule ? I have tried to find it but have been unable to do so and I find it incredulous that the clubs are not allow to call on players that they pay huge wages to
anyone else get the feeling that Ozil, now that he has won the World Cup will just view Arsenal as somewhere to pick up a decent pay packet for the season?
