The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Not transfer related but how's this for classless.

David Gold(wet spammers Co-owner) has just favoured a tweet from a fan which says "is today the day we get rid of BFS...I hope so"

They are obviously trying to make him quit with all the briefings to the press and . Don't like Fat Sam but this is truly classless behaviour.

Then again what do we expect from one half of the porn brothers.

What makes it worse is the tw*t that tweeted it has a load of anti-Islam tweets as well. Nit the kind of fan to be favouring tweets from. Unless Gold has forgotten his demographic in London Borough of Newham

The new Indian Soccer premier league have now just announced the signing of Pires to add to their capture of Freddie Ljungberg and David James.

Least we won't have to listen to James talking complete codswallop on that sh*te sports channel.

Good luck to Freddie and Bobby Pires, even though we all know they're just topping up their pension. Don't begrudge them.

Untrue - you have clearly not done your research. Sánchez played/plays through the middle for Udinese and Chile. Only at Barca has he been stuck out on the wing because of Messi. That excites me even more because Alexis hadn't shown his full potential at Barca due to not being used in his best role. Here he will be.
You've clearly not done your research as Di Natale was the main out and out striker at Udinese with Sanchez playing behind him as a No.10. He was also a winger for Chile in the 2010 World Cup.
Yeah he was playing as a shadow striker, still constitutes as playing through the middle. In the 2010 WC he was playing on the right of 3 pronged forward line, which is a position he can also perform well in.

I know next to nothing about the kid apart from what I've read. But it could be that we've got a gem on our hands. If he is as versatile as everyone says he is and can play RB or DM, then great. But I do not want his signing to mean that we don't bring in a proper DM as well.
That would be the ideal.
Would mean we have a packed midfield this season, but I expect both Arteta and Diaby to leave next summer.

Brilliant news signing such a sought after player.
Many commentators down in Southampton are saying he as more potential than Shaw.
Now Wenger has funds at his disposal, he's having a good summer.
Just need that defensive midfield player now and we're very well placed.

There is no 'debate' with him, it's going round in circles. Utterly pointless.

No, you're just shit at debating. Man said Sánchez spent the majority of his career as a winger. Clueless.

19 goals from the wing for Barca, imagine if they moved him inside...

From the MODS:

Enough with the personal insults.
Who needs the annoyance of checking this website to see two people who have never met each other having a needless argument about something that has not even happened!

Contrary to popular rumour I have only ever banned one person, that was a troll from another club.

But if this nonsense continues it goes against the guidelines set down by the website's owner and the mods will just have to start banning people, for a week at first, then for good.
