It's hardly whining to be talking about fairness in the game. If that's troublemaking then there's really no hope. Lampard may be a 36 year old but who's to say next time it won't be. We both commented on Chelsea's "loan business" and this is just as bad.northbank123 wrote:Annoying to see Wenger piping up about Man City again. If he wants to go and work for FIFA then he can spend all day moaning about FFP but he's far too concerned about what's going on elsewhere. They've signed a 36 year old past-it lump, they haven't sneaked Lionel Messi into their squad. Why does he always feel that it's his responsibility to whine about this? Doesn't come off well and if he wants to get written off as a moaning troublemaker - like the FA/English media have been on a global scale by FIFA - he's doing a brilliant job.
Keeping quiet about these things is tantamount to supporting cheating. At least he has the balls to say something about it and draw attention to it. I bet Citeh are propoer pissed off at the journo for raising it as an issue. Up until then it had slipped under the radar.
It's the same with the England versus FIFA issue. They can call us whiners but we know that it is corrupt to the core. If it wasn't they would be doing more than calling us Whiners, they'd have us in a coutroom. If their only response to being accused of fundamental corruption at all levels of their organisation is to call us whiners then we have clearly hit on a raw nerve with them.
It's only by people being bold enough to stand up and say "you cheat" that cheats will stop behaving as they do. If we all say nothing then it will continue and likely get worse.
A planted question perhaps ? Seems way, way too convenient for a journo to ask a question phrased like that and for le cock to have his answer ready. No other manager was asked the question (about possible sinister crooked motives) over the weekend so why was wenker asked about it ?![]()
I also get your point about the need for somebody to raise the issue of the possibility of an end around FFP but why is it always le cock who does so ? Because he feels that he is an authority on all things footie, he pushes himself forward as the saviour who will always fight the good fight but the problem is, when you hear the same voice over and over, you stop listening to the valid points being made
