Not convinced that Afobe is going to be good enough to make it for us from the little I've seen of him when on loan and for Arsenal and England the last couple of seasons. Still young and has time to improve massively but doesn't strike me as outstanding in any way.

Similarly, read a lot about and kept my eye on Aneke's performances for the youth and reserve sides and he certainly seems to be very highly rated by those in the know. Thought he did well enough on the Asia tour but every time I look at him worry that he has a touch of the Jay Emmanuel Thomas about him. Really impressive in terms of size and very skillful, and seemingly dominate against guys of a similar age, but I wonder if he'll be able to transfer that onto the big stage when the time comes. I really hope so because of the two players, I feel he is the one that could make a big name for himself at Arsenal. :barscarf:

I'm going to hazard a guess that No. 1000 was probably ok :D

I think it might have been. Probably because it was more "visual" than wordy. :D

Benik Afobe has gone on a season long loan to MK Dons.
At the age of 21 I reckon he will have to do really well there to force his way back into Wenger's plans.

Agree. Although people get a bit carried away with the line of thought that any quality youngster should be in the mix for the first team by 17 or 18, 21 and going out on loan to a League One side is without doubt last chance saloon for a player whose CV is littered with less than impressive loan spells at lower league sides.

Afobe signs for Wolves, £2M deal.

Akpom offered new contract with us, current one expires in the summer.

Im sure its in the paperwork somewhere but I could understand MK Dons being well upset that they take someone on for a season loan, build up his value then see him hoofed off to Wolves mid season. Another utter farce in the Loan system
