The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

On the rare appearance he gets a run-out I don't see much progression. Although I've just looked and surprisingly he's only 21. He went to Leicester last year and played a handful of games all season, the guy needs to go out and play regularly before he's even considered an option imo. He will get a raw bumfucking if called upon to deputise for any period of time for us.

Who are you having as 3rd-choice CB - Chambers? He's played 20-odd senior games of football, 1 at CB, and keeping him as primary back-up at CB compromises our cover at RB and may well also stop him from staking a first-team claim there. I'm certainly not averse to seeing him get a few games at CB (Beer Cup, CL) but I don't think we should be relying on him as primary cover. That embarrassment with Dzeko that nearly cost us a goal last weekend show why he is not ready to be playing 15+ games there a season at this point.

We can't head into the season with such only 2 CBs with any experience.

Edinson Cavani to the Arsenal. Some sad scum loser with nothing better to do but post bs transfer rumours.

We have as much chance of AW spending 50million plus on a striker as we have of getting Hummels.

Nothing to see here, move along now.

Jim White from Sky Sports News says "Arsenal will do more business and a big name as well; I'm certain."

Javi Martinez injury means he's more likely to join us.

Hilariously unrealistic rumour. Can't see Wenger making another really expensive purchase, but £50m on a 27-year old?

Hmm... its probably a good thing both his legs do the same thing as surely if Cazorla had one leg running back and the other leg standing still, he'd simply end up going round in circles like a dog chasing its tail? :? :rubchin:

Now THIS is what could really happen......

http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/footba ... phane-Mbia

Signing Mbia (QPR reject) and Kalou (everyone reject) for £3m total. That is the perfect Wonga business, total shite for peanuts. A leopard doesn't change his spots!!

Oh.....and people thought Tiote would be a shit signing....Mbia makes Tiote look like Makelele !!

Can someone remind me what 'arsenal ready to spend big' s net spend is at now...?

If we don't make a nother big purchase this makes a mockery of all the bs the club has been coming out with and will prove what their ambitions really are.

We have lots of money still. We are still short. Just spend what's needed to fill the gaps.

What difference does Thursday make :?

Nzonzi,Adams, Noble,Garcia,Capoue,Fer.....all are not even close to good enough for what we need but Topgoon would buy any of them a hundred times before Mbia. This idiot makes Song look disciplined. He was absolutely terrible at the WC.

Thankfully this is a rumour from the Star so it's not going to happen. Please God its not going to happen.
