Home game against Palace - Season Opener 2014 - 2015

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

That wasn't the first game, they dicked Wigan away first game up. Pretty sure that was the year we scraped a late draw at Anfield first up.

Last time we won an opening game I think was actually when we caned Everton 6-1 back in 2009

Alternative scenario is a frustrating and tense 0-0 until the 94th minute when Kos gets one in from a corner following an hour and a half of numerous trips, misses and stumbles in front of the goal from our youthful French postie. On the positive side, Giroud's hair will be looking immaculate for the start of the season.
Oh I hope the faithful make fun of Pulis whether hes there or not. :barscarf: :barscarf:

Meanwhile I expect the Palace fans to be "entertaining" with their choreographed droning and drums for the whole 95 minutes :| :|
Too True Mate

Where's that TWAT in the Hat!?
Oh! dear he's been SACKED!?

DOO DAA DOO DAA DAAAAY! :barscarf:
as much as I enjoyed that rousing chant (i have no idea what tune its based on), pulis wasn't sacked, he walked away from the job
Who cares the *word censored* still a twat! :barscarf:

The feeling of the first day of the season is great. We should win quiet comfortably today, but any win will do.
The junction to start off in for a few beers.

Wouldn't be surprised if AW takes the p*ss and rests Kos because of his knock and uses that clown Monreal. Tuesday is more important as far as he's concerned.

This is true and it wouldn't surprise me either... mind you it is not helped by the board prioritising Champions league qualification above all else.

It's actually fucking embarrassing. It defies belief that after seeing him bumbling around against the likes of Bayern and at Wembley last year that we are heading into this season with him starting. Some people are tripping over themselves to praise him for anything and everything but I honestly cannot see anything about him that raises him above young unproven strikers in the ranks of Championship clubs. The bloke has won the football lottery, his agent must have thought it was a joke when he got the call from Arsenal. Pisses me off so much.

Look at what a wonderful free-spending club we are, thank fuck the shackles are off.

And it's not as if Arsene hasn't got form when he thinks he's right, this bloke will be around for years and all nae sayers will be politely asked "for how many years have you worked in football?"

I hope against hope he becomes the real deal but I'm not holding my breath.

Got a really bad feeling about this one. Don't know why. Hope I'm wrong.
