MEETING PLAYERS

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

MEETING PLAYERS

Post by REB »

meeting players just isn't easy anymore ,, when i was a lad you could go to highbury and the chances were a couple of players would be hanging around,, i met alan smith ,pat rice ,o leary, rix and load more that way but now it seem only the retired players are the only one's who give you the time of day unless its on an official club beano or something,, last player i met was charlie George and a gentleman he was too,, but have not met any of the current first team

so who has met any of the current squad :?: and were they dickheads

Have met/seen a few after the games.....RVP never stops, neither did TH14. The really good ones are: Clichy, Fabregas and Arsene in particular who always stops for a quick chat.

Bendtner and Fabianski also got their taxi driver to stop once, but not for long.

I met Charlie at the tour and Hleb at the airport when he came to Israel (for a friendly with his coutry). Both we're very very nice.

When Thierry came with france (can't seem to remember anyone else being in the french national team at that time) i waited for him in the airport, but the whole side got out from another exit :(

I once waited for a few hours outside the gunners shop and finsbury to meet David Seaman and Paul Merson.

When we got to the front there was no merse. I was gutted.

Haven't met any of the current squad, but going back a few years son won a JG award and we went up to Highbury for a day.

Lee Dixon top bloke, made a huge fuss of Chris, Dave Seaman the same, Wrighty a man a few words, got the impression it was all beneath him, Dennis was great (got photo taken with him, the rest of them just sodded off as fast as they could

I've always wondered how long before a match the squad would arrive or leave as have never been early enough to catch them

Met most of the team after the bolton game my brother Gooner_89, has got quite a few pictures as i was camera man. Most of the team were ok especially Walcott and Toure who spent alot of time with the fans along with Flam, Almunia, Hoyte, RvP, Hleb! Adebayor signed a couple then just decided he had , had enough and got onto the coach. Then Mr Bendtner who completely ignored the 50 or so fans and walked through the middle of everyone. It was like no one was there?? Didnt sign one autograph or have any photos. There were kids there shouting at him to come over but no, he just ignored the whole lot!
