Besiktas away

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

I notice that the club have been quick to hype up the fact that we were top longer than any other club last season, but the fact that we eventually faded to finish 4th has quickly been forgotten...

now of course Wenger will be moaning about fixture congestion :banghead: :banghead:

I bet SteveO is there. He loves these August forays to Istanbul almost as much as the annual trip to see the reserves play in Greece

Sanogo isn't injured. He lost his passport, so he hasn't travelled. He was asked 2 remain home, no quickfire solution

DISLIKE Wilshire in the starting 11. IMO Rosicky should be starting. Also think Ox should be starting for Cazorla.

Is this a joke?

Carlos Vela did that against Barca a few years back.

Great. Let's deport him. Or sack him for gross misconduct.

Wilshire and arteta do my head in. What exactly does arteta do besides run with their attackers. He doesn't have any speed and never makes a crunching tackle. Flamini please.

Fucking awful start. When Ramsey got on the ball 2 minutes ago he held onto it for about 10 seconds but not one of the 4 players nearby offered an option. We're not keeping the ball and we're not defending as a team, we are panicking and there is no coherent pressing strategy - meaning we're either giving them too much time on the ball or only one or two players are pressing and it's easy for them to take them out of the game with short, quick passes.

We could win this game in the first 30 minutes on the counter-attack if we play our cards right though. Two decent chances created. They are flooding men forward so if we take it off them they're in trouble.
