Kos,Chambers and Debuchy v good,Jack had a decent first half.Dont know who is the bigger embarassment, Giroud or Cazorla. It's possible that we have a very average midfield, if Fabregas takes off at Chelsea this will be the most painful season of all.

does it matter if that striker plays up front alone and is marked by 4 in the box whilst the pedestrian midfield sits 40yards out ?

thats the issue, not what % of chances Giroud misses - Gerv couldn't do, Chamakh coundn't either, nor Sanogo or Giroud.

there have been very very few strikers that could play that lone role well - off the top of my head, wrighty, Jean Pierre Papin, Klinsmann and a couple of italians.

its wengers system thats the problem NOT the strikers - TH14 couldn't do it no way. 99% strikers need space and support.

wengers an idiot.
Sort your "quoting" out dude...I don't mind being quoted when I have said it...But did not say that.

but agree btw that it IS down to Wenger....something we've all known for yonks.

You make a great point there mate, playing one up top only works for us if the entire midfield is on top of their game and manages to get beyond Giroud but at times they are too lethargic. Giroud doesn't have the pace or trickery to create for himself that far out so ends up looking an idiot. I'm not a massive fan of Giroud but I think for the most part the managers lack of tactical nous does him a massive disservice.

I'd love to see him get a regular partner, whether that be Sanchez, Walcott or even Campbell as I think closer to goal Girouds link up play is often pretty good. It must be demoralising for him to be competing for balls in the air knowing that he's going to be mugged off even if he wins the ball as 99% of the time there is not a single player running in behind gambling on him winning the flick on.

Biggest point is however that Monsieur Cunto and his inability to be even reactive let alone proactive is holding this club back :banghead:

Fabregas will be brilliant for Chelsea, playing alongside Matic. He also has Schurrle up front, not a donkey.

The "Giroud is shit"one word idea - reminds me of the old joke that kids grew up thinking that Partick Thistle 0 was actually the team's name.
But if Giroud is shit, Sanogo is worse. Insane that Ox only gets a cameo and Campbell nothing at all.
Btw why no Ospina on the bench? Is he crocked already too?

DM please....Arteta crocked and Flamini a walking yellow card (and not v good)

Sanogo and Giroud in 2 games have encapsulated what our season will be like with those options up top.

sorry mate...

and the end of the Cup final when we finally finally played with two up, we looked so much better.

451 is fine when clubs play keep ball and push us back, and we hit them on the break but when we are the ones with the possession and we face two lines of four its just utterly pointless playing one up.

we should be playing 352 or 442 against these weaker sides.

we literally need two players in the box. two wide men are pointless unless its the wing backs.

Topgoon has put a call in to the Samaritans to keep an eye on this forum as the risk of suicide is high. Apparently some posters have just realised that night really does follow day and they can't handle it

He could/should play Alexis off of Giroud or Campbell - That would increase our scoring chances greatly - I can see him playing Alexis on the wing though - just like he did with bendybollocks and what he is doing with Pods. :banghead:
