The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

They're welcome to Balotelli , I don't rate him at all and terrible attitude.
Khedira would be just what we need.

Some reporter bloke from South Africa is tweeting breaking news that PSG have accepted a bid from Arsenal for Cavani.

The same PSG who are without Ibra for six weeks.

So they lose a world class striker and immediately replace him with another one? What a novel approach...
He really isnt though.

His disciplinary record is appalling, he is by all accounts an awful trainer and his attitude is beyond terrible. I don't want a player like that at Arsenal, as I am glad that we didn't get Suarez either.

We can do that better than that.
If we hd gotten Suarez, we would have won the league.

Some of our most successful sides were full of characters. They weren't all saints.

This "holier than thou" attitude is holding our club back immensely.

They are footballers. They're not supposed to be the leaders on moral authority and clean living.
Remind me, which of our past players was accused of being racist?

I would rather not win the league if it is because of someone who bites people, racially abuses people and doesnt even apologise for it.

What if Ched Evans was brilliant, would you be happy if we signed him? What about Lee Hughes? If Malkay Mackay was a brilliant manager, would you like him to manage Arsenal?

What about Richard Keys or Andy Gray commentating on Arsenal tv?

Maybe you can live with those kind of people at the club, but I can't. Who plays for the club not only represents the club but also the fans.

Go and support the likes of Chelsea if you don't like the fact we aren't signing criminals & racists, they are 'legends' down there
.

Climb off your high horse before you start telling proper Gooners who they should and shouldn't support

A little bit of a history lesson for you - in the past we have had TA6 doing porridge, merse being addicted to alcohol and gambling (and using some powder substances too if memory serves me right) and GG being banned for taking a backhander and I doubt if you will find many proper Gooners anywhere who wouldn't defend them with their lives. Two of those three will forever be legends at our club and rightfully so. Where do you draw the line of moral code at the club ? Is it ok for wenker and Giroud to fcuk about on their wives with some tarts ? Before you start coming out with your sanctimonious crap, perhaps you should look back at our history

well said.

i suppose the poster would also rather we dont win anything than sacrifice our so called pretty football...sound like a retard scum fan, excusing lack of success/ambition as long as they play the scum way.

oh for the gg day type fans and all the prickish jcl islington new labour,, guardian reading, highbury jd, bandwagon type fans fucking off.

When the Balotelli rumours to us first surfaced I wanted us to get him....then we went and signed Sanchez and i was happy with what we have going forward and glad we didn't get him.
You don't necessarily have to have a 30 goal a season player if you have enough players weighing in with goals...imo Sanchez, Giroud, Ramsey, Theo and ox are all capable of 15+ goals and Santi, Jack, Poldi, Ozil and Joel all capable of 10+ (not forgetting the postmans 1 or less) ...my big mistake was thinking that maybe we would play a system that would get the best out of the players we have (stupid of me I know).
After watching the game against the turks it is painfully obvious that we yet again will stick to the same system with wenger trying to get his favourites players squeezed into it.
Now I don't hate Giroud as some people do and think he has a place in the squad/team but he can't play the role being asked of him...and I think if we do have to play the same system Balotelli would have been a decent signing... but Cavani would be a fucking fantastic one.

harsh, but probably fair!

as much as i would cream in my pants if we signed either khedira or cavani, we wont, and if were did and were picking holes khedira isnt the type of dm we need and cavani didnt do much for me in the world cup!

balotelli would do a job for us in lieu of cavani.

its all academic anyway. we wont sign anyone else bar maybe some 2nd rate greek back up cb, that will surely fire us beyond the battle for 4th...

You find that a lot with the Wenger sympathisers and that's because deep down they don't have an arguement. When you call them out face to face it normally ends up with them getting aggressive. My brothers best mate is an AKB and he overheard me slagging Wenger when a load of us were out for my Bro's birthday, the prick offered me outside in the middle of a resturaunt.

Had it been a week later I would have taken him up on the offer as we got thumped 5-1 at Liverpool, I did text him to ask if the offer was still there but funnily enough he never replied.

If one of them could give me a rational arguement I wouldn't mind but it's like the old 'my dad's tougher than your dad' from my school days............."look Wenger is not a c*nt"..........."oh, ok then how stupid of me" FUCK OFF :banghead:

I didn't hear any clamour on here for balotelli when he left city last year. Why the love in now? The guy's a fucking meat head and will be poison around the club at Liverpool. Can't wait to watch the circus unfold.

It would be another "name" signing and not a "need" signing so we would be no better unless we offloaded Wally, podolski and cazorla cos otherwise we would be overstocking again
