*word censored* Wenger
Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.
Well said that man, Couldn't have put it better myself.......so I wontaugie wrote:How is this for perspective -
1. We have won one trophy in 9 years
2. We have le postman and flamoney who are not worth their place in the squad. We have Campbell who, despite the claims from some on here, has not proven yet that he is worth a place in the squad. We have a very average first choice centre forward and we have 2 average left backs to choose from.
3. The signings of ozil and Sanchez have shown that we have improved in our transfer dealings......how ? We signed a quality player (ozil) to play in the one position that we are overstocked inWe signed Sanchez and have marooned him on the wing. Whilst we have been making "big name signings" (otherwise known as shirt sellers) we have failed to address the glaring needs at DM, centre forward and at centre back - fix those areas properly and we can claim that we have improved in our transfer dealings because at the moment there isn't an awful lot of planning in our dealings
4. We have a system/tactical formation that doesn't work. We have used this system for the past few seasons and it didn't work then either. We have started this season with the same system and show no sign of changing it. To accommodate this bullshit system we are playing players like podolski, cazorla and ozil on the wings (and Ramsey & bendtner in the past) when it is not their proper positions. Instead of building a system around the players we have, le cock is sticking with his system and as a consequence he is putting square pegs into round holes.
You are right though when you say people have short memories......it seems for some that an fa cup win has wiped out the trophyless 9 seasons which has seen us declining at an alarming rate and has see us turned over by Bradford, Blackburn etc![]()

Not to worry. The AKBs will soon pipe down again. With Le bumhole in charge, we'll once again be caught in a dogfight as we limp over the line in 4th place. This after the very predictable seasonal capitulation around Feb/Mar.

welcome on board, I can see that you are going to love it on herefivetothree wrote:Maybe it is me, but I do not understand some of the negativity here.
We have just won the FA Cup and signed Ozil and Sanchez in the last 12 months!
Not saying things are perfect, but they are way better than they were. I dread to think of what it was like here after the 8-2 shellacking at OT in 2011.
And I'm not a blind Wenger loyalist, but he has improved the squad markedly the last couple of years and hopefully the team will have a solid base to handover to whoever comes in in 2/3 years.

I am just intrigued why you think that he has improved the squad markedly over the last couple of years.
funnily enough in 2011/12 we finished in 3rd place, 2012/13 in 4th place and last year once again 4th place. Not much improvement as far as I can see. the draw in midweek was the first time we had not won a CL qualifier ever, so surely the trend (expecially when you add in the 1-5 and 0-6 defeats earlier this year) all points towards a gradual decline.
this decline has been masked by the cup win and although I was delighted that we beat the powerhouses of Wigan Athletic and Hull City at Wembley I can't help feeling that we got a bit lucky in winning that first trophy in 9 years.
I will continue to support the team more in hope than expectation but have run out of patience with the

Wenger saw the effect Vieira had on Arsenal and how a strong DM helped us win titles and cups. Now he finally spends money the one position he fails to improve is our defensive midfield. Im sorry but Arteta and Flamini are not good enough.

When it is and has been so blindingly obvious, you've got to ask why he doesn't address this and other problems.supergeorgegraham wrote:Wenger saw the effect Vieira had on Arsenal and how a strong DM helped us win titles and cups. It is very remeniscent of George andthe very same position. Which ironically, as you've stated, Wenger solved in one go.
So, is it Wenger's vanity? He wants another Vieira/Anelka "discovery" (which would account for Sanogo)?

Arteta is injured, Wenger has suddenly become a better manager.

Arteta being injured is quite possibly his best contribution to The Arsenal yet.

Re: WENGER - Views For and Against.

Theres no doubt therefore that as a manager the strike rate is far worse over 6 seasons than half of one season of new transfers, so we should on this reasoning alone have many more transfers than we do
My only other theory, and stats never lie is that the thought of Natalie on window closing day is far more tempting than another 3 years of AW.

I've called him worse than that from the North Bank!fivetothree wrote:Yeah I understand that, and I love the banter that is why I signed up here. Honestly, that is embarassing. Show the man some respect, even if you think he has done his time no need for that.
Save that kind of thing for the likes of Mourinho, Nasri, Adebayor etc not anyone at Arsenal.
Come to think of it I believe my 14 yr old has too...

and of course his "reserve " team that easily beat the spuds, liverpool and everton in the Cup which had width and pace. unlike his "strongest" team that limped past Wigan and Hull that didn't.

he was utterly pathetic today.
he showed he's learnt nothing about team or his tactics.
its going to be a long long season.

he sets the team up to play wide but we don't have any true wingers in the mold of Robben, RIbery. Our fullbacks get forward without overlapping runs from the mids leaving us exposed when we lose possession.clockender1 wrote:same as when Jack got injured last year.Humoresque wrote:Arteta is injured, Wenger has suddenly become a better manager.
