Besiktas (H)

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

He's the guy you'd want with you in the trenches. The complete opposite of Ozil.
Ozil is the antithesis of Sanchez. Sometimes I was just shaking my head.

Sanchez forget the goal effort and endeavour alone was fantastic.
My No. 1 ask of an Arsenal player is that they give 100% - Sanchez gave more - Ozil - I don't get

Sanchez put in a tremendous shift tonight. After we went down to 10 his industrious play coupled with his clever runs and surprisingly good touch at that stage took a huge amount of pressure off us. Considering he obviously isn't at 100% yet to see him playing like that in the last 15 minutes of a game where he was shoved up top alone again was astounding. He still looked a bit rusty in and around the box - I think this is partially lack of sharpness and partially learning the new role. But his willingness to take on opponents and dribbling ability given a bit of space is really refreshing.

Thought Wilshere had a good game although he was out on his feet by the end and should have given away a penalty in the first half. Cazorla also showed quality in patches but Ox faded badly and when we were counter-attacking we were too reliant on a CM driving with the ball at his feet rather than being able to utilise the space and switch the play.

I personally would have given Debuchy the rub of the green as it was only a small tug and a great tackle, but he blatantly pulled him and without that wouldn't have been able to get the tackle in so hardly a travesty.

Tbh the game was all about getting the win. It didn't tell us anything we didn't already know about our ability to compete for the PL and CL, we are still living in a forlorn hope that Wenger will make the necessary purchases and show some tactical versatility.

Also very impressed by Monreal. At this rate Gibbs might struggle to win his place back.

Tonight convinced me that Sanchez will succeed as a striker for us.

Can I just say Mesut Özil has officially f**king retired, the :censored: just forgot to tell his team mates.

Wonder if Monaco would be up mug enough to do a Falcao,Özil swap.

At least he bothered his a**e to help out Monreal but going forward,he was f**king useless and before anyone says it I don't give a flying f**k he had an assist. Right now the f**ker is stealing a living.
