The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

yeah I know..... :banghead:

So we're gonna have to make do (yet another season of making do even though we've got plenty of wonga for wenger the tightwad to spend) with sanogo & Campbell

Thing is wenger may play Alexis up front - But he'll need to change to 2 up front or he will be ineffective and probaly burn out!

Still wengertwat knows. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Bacca is not better Zigic, ok he is but the point is he is terrible.

Everyone on the market is terrible bar Falcao and Cavani (who is nowhere near world class).

Given the choices left,if it isn't to be Falcao or Cavani, then I'd rather promote Akpom. He has an eye for a goal, shoots on sight and is physically strong as well. Better than AW spunking money on Danny Wellsh*t,chewbacca or some soon to be revealed average French nobody.

What's the deal with Bony are they asking silly prices for him For about £15million we could do a lot worse.

Bony won't be 15m, more like 20/25m as they are under no pressure to sell and he had a good season, he would be an upgrade on Giroud that's for sure.

After seeing what looks to be a tricky CL draw if he sits on his hands and does nothing then that bloke with the flip flops needs to get his banner out as now really will be the time.

The FA Cup win was nice but the only real purpose it served was to calm the press down, we still have massive holes and the season is two weeks old and we've had some pretty key injuries while our best defender is being nursed through (and it's only week 2) this will be neglect and far worse than anything he has ever done.

Ha true, don't get me wrong, I love talking about it as much as the next man but perspective tells you that it's not an excuse for Wenger to do what he is clearly doing right now.

If we didn't have the funds - then okay - nothing much he can do about that - well except take a wage cut and get the players to kick in a few million as well - BUT we have the money and he will NOT spend it - even though it isn't his.

That's why I think it will be his worse act yet, in years gone by he has been able to hide behind the stadium, that is clearly not the case now, looks like another 1.5m is coming in for that useless Spanish defender, would love to see how much has come in from sales and clauses and how much we have actually spent and how much is left to spend.

I think most people's heads would melt.
