The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Unbelievable......now pinning all our hopes on a player we don't even particularly want. And to rub it in they're keeping us waiting another hour. What happened to Carvalho, not that I'd heard of him before, or Rabiot (ditto) or any of the others I'd also never heard of? I presume there's a (highly-paid) team out there negotiating/finalising transfers, now there's a job you'd want. And we've let Miquel go - OK, not much good, but when two of the three (ie including Chambers) are out due to injury / suspension, who plays at the back? Flamini? Debuchy? The Pope?

Sacre bleu.

Have fun with that. The long dark months are nearly upon us cricket supporters. With not even a bumholing on foreign shores to distract us from the misfortunes of the plc formerly known as The Arsenal this year

@9smudge: Hearing Falcao has failed a medical. Could it affect Welbeck deal to Arsenal?

Jason Robert just now on Football Focus about Welbeck joining us:

"If it doesn't work out in 2-3 years time he can be sold to Sunderland for the same amount that they brought him..."

I would fcuking love it if fell through - obviously those cnuts not getting falcao would be brilliant, but us not having spunked £16m on wellshite would make me ecstatic 8) I might have been able to come to terms with us signing him on loan, but to spend £16m on the *word censored* ? Fcuk that

so, no DM then. and why didnt we pick up Micah Richards and Negredo up ? or Ben Arfa ?

and how any club would give their permission for their manager to be away on a jolly on deadline day beggars belief. bearing in mind our FIVE poor performances - shouldnt he be prioritizing the club ?
