So he's better than Sanogoal thats alright then.Is he better than Giroud?if not why have we signed him because Giroud is pony.No Gooner at the start of the transfer window if told to write down 20 strikers you would want us to sign would not have had Welbeck on their list. But now because he is wearing an Arsenal shirt he has become a good player. He will be a success if he can score 20 league goals like Sturridge at Liverpool because Giroud couldnt

His transfer to us has also p*ssed quite a few of the man (ex coach & players) off - Like many I would have preferred AW to signa World Class Striker - But also knew that was unlikely because of his Scrooge like attitude to the transfer window - So I am hoping that Welbeck will turn out to be a Very Good buy, not just because it benefits us - on the pitch, it also (feck I hope so) means I don't have to endure the postman attempting to kick an invisible ball for a while AND should Welbeck turn out to be a quality signing it will further P*SS OFF the mancscum fans etc

So far he has started in the right manner by giving the spudscum the 'V' . :barscarf:

Spolisport

Tbf Spuddy, if you scroll back through my posts on the world cup, you will see that I have always referred to him as wellshite because I have never rated him. I think that as my calling him that pre-dates his arrival, I should be allowed to continue to call him that until he proves otherwise 8)
i thought wilshire was wellshite ?

i think LVG made a big mistake on this kid - i would of sold wooney and kept Danny. As Henry Winter said today - LVG is trying to assemble a Galactico cast, but imho the fear of going to OT has gone.

if as we hope, wenger leaves early then welbeck could be quite the legacy alongside sanchez and Ozil and/or walcott :

------------Welbeck---Sanchez/wally------
-----------------Ozil----------------
DM--------Rambo----------OX
Gibbs ----Per - Chambers----Debuchy

lets hope so.

He's also a good header of the ball - something we lack (aside from Giroud, BFG, Chambers & Campbell) :barscarf:

Is it just me or there a lot of people overly sensitive regarding this signing ? :o When I abuse wenker on here, it comes from a real feeling of hatred and frustration towards him - when I call wellbeck wellshite, I don't do it out of any real hatred for the guy cos right now I have a very "who gives a fcuk" attitude to the signing - he isn't what we needed, he certainly isn't worth the money, but because I wasn't expecting much in the first place I'm not really angry so my use of the name "wellshit" shouldn't be viewed as a personal attack on the guy, but more of my assessment of him 8)

Already sounding like an Arsenal player to me!

"Arsenal new boy Danny Welbeck is a doubt after sustaining a knock in training.

"Unfortunately in training today he received a knock in the session," said boss Roy Hodgson. "I would be very disappointed if he could not play because of what happened with the last kick of the session.""

John Cross strikes again  Arsenal reacted quickly ? Giroud had been injured 9 days previously and that c*nt claims they acted quickly  He has written some pro wenker shite in his time, but that article is so obvious in its intent (defending the signing at all costs) that he and it lacks all credibility

rigsby wrote:I remember Fergie fancying him in the big games a lot of times. Against Real a few years ago he was outstanding and scored, I think Ferguson actually dropped Rooney for him in that match. He suffered with the signing of Van Persie there, as the desire for Ferguson to win the league one last time, over ruled his fabled youth policy.

Anyway, let's see how he does. Eeveryone connected with United ala Ferdinand, Phelan, Neville and Mullenstein have all said he could be brilliant for us and how good he is, so hopefully it pays off.
It seems that those ex-United players are genuinely not happy to see Welbeck leave and think he could do very well for us.
And its definitely nice to see one of Uniteds top young players coming this way for a change :D

lol.

maybe he decided to throw a sickie to get back with his new club and not risk himself ?

you would hope that was it. ferguson used to tell them to do it at united all the time.

footballers are generally mercernary kants these days, but you'd also hope some of them would want to excel and be the best etc.

Add to that, cross lauds how quickly we acted but in the same piece he states that we only got wellbeck (dat ok spuddy ? ) because they got falcao - so if they hadn't of signed falcao we would have signed........?? Hardly the quick assessment and plan that he suggests

Welbeck has picked up injury at London Colney. Arsenal's injury record couldn't have anything to do with training ground pitches, could it?

it seems opinion is very divided on welbeck, its either he's shit or he's the next Alan Shearer.

Adrian Durhams take in the Mail :

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... arted.html

the comments underneath are split 50/50 too.

most of the article is SAF fawning shite, but Danny did indeed score some vital goals in big games and has been commended for his professionalism, so we shall see.
