3-0 to us with a Welbeck hat trick. It was 3-0 at Wemberlee so shouldnt be any different in London again.

We seem to play better v Citeh than the other big teams (Bar last year away, but it was a more open game and score than the other big losses.  )

Pass me the roses :D

Just where is this fabled garden where it's always rosy except for the month of March when they wither and die to then suddenly be replaced by roses on every 4th branch :rubchin:

oh dear Danny, your manager has just described you as very versatile... Code for I can play you in whatever position I damn well want.....There may be trouble ahead :box:

Welbeck or Özil in the left wing graveyard of Players Played Out of Position? Sanogo to start up front.
12.45 kickoff. What could possibly go wrong?

I'm actually strangely optimistic for this one. Abu Dhabi FC don't normally come to our place and play us off the park like they do at theirs, our club has had a boost with the Welbeck signing and we'll hopefully be well up for it on the day whereas they've had their most important midfielders (Toure/Fernandinho) playing late internationals and apparently only returning tomorrow.

That said, Wenger will probably have our 6'6ft tank defending from the half way line, we'll have 'little bit space in behind niggle' and it'll be over by the 30th minute.

Rumour going round that Welbeck was a Gazidis signing has been more or less confirmed by AW stating that he wouldn't have signed him permanently if he had been around on the last day of the transfer window. We should send him away more often. We needed a striker Ivan got one.

Not necessarily the answer to our problems up top but at least he tried to do something about it.

Welbeck must feel really wanted when his new manager does interviews saying he'd rather have got him in on loan and not permanently.

Just going by various journalists and blokes on Twitter  apparently Wenger thought utd only wanted a loan deal hence his comment today.

I suppose a Wenger supporter would think that and non Wenger supporter would say Ivan bought welbeck, similar scenario tothe ozil purchase depending on your view of Wenger .

He didn't say that he was a Gazidis signing at all, though. That has been fabricated by taking his original quote completely out of context.

He was attempting to defend his Rome trip like the stubborn man that he is by saying that coincidence allowed him to sign Welbeck which would not have happened if he had not gone to Rome. Perhaps he met someone in Rome that alerted him of Welbeck's availability, or whatever else.. that is beside the point.

Are you suggesting it was Devine intervention ?

( Not content with being married to a former Miss Ireland I believe :) )
For those of you younger than 30 you will need to google John Devine

Rambo out is a HUGE setback. The only midfielder we've got who can compete with Yaya.

this is where Manchester City will show the strength of their squad.

I will optimistically say we can draw this - we have not won a match against one of the "big sides" since we beat City in April 2012. We then had a world class striker. We now don't and why we won't win one of these games again for a while.

meanwhile regarding Danny Welbeck - there's only one Ivan Gazidis :barscarf:

Gibbs is fit meaning no Monreal. It's not even Saturday and that feels like a result. :barscarf:
